These may be dumb questions but I'm unsure so I'll ask.
1) I want to get a good but not very expensive floor jack. Any recommendations? It needs to be light so I can carry it around to autox events without any problems. A friend of mine suggested one from harborfreight but I've never heard of them so was unsure.
2) My 2002 Si (and I'm assuming other model years) has the 2 jacking points cut out on each side. One up front and one in the rear on both the left and right sides. With a floor jack, where is the best place to jack the car up? Can I use those precut jacking points? Also, if I'm using a floor jack can I jack the front of the car high enough to also lift the rear on the same side? Or will that not be safe?
Thanks for any help everyone.

I know lots of folks who swear by the Harborfreight aluminum jack. You can find it on sale if you look around for less than $100.

If I take my spair out then when I jack on the front jack point behind the front wheel the whole side of the car lifts enough to get both wheels at once. If the spair is in then it doesn't quite go far enough... well it would, but I don't feel comfortable enough to lift it any higher.

Harbor Freight has the best values in tools/hardware/&c that I have seen anywhere. These $.99 scissors that I got from there feel like my mom's $20 fabric scissors, they are that sharp and well built.

I purchased a craftsman jack last year. . .Haven't had any problems with it at all. I do however, still have to throw down a couple 2x4 pieces and roll the car up on them in order to get the jack under the car.

I have a older craftsman 3 ton jack and that will not fit under my EP anymore unless I take off the sadle. Just measure your right height on the front jack point to make sure you get a low enough jack.

I had the craftsman jacks 2-1/4 and the 3 ton, always had to roll up on 2x6's to get jacks under it.

Harbour freight has 2 3000lbs (1.5 ton) versions $89 aluminum (smaller)(looks like they are out of those now) and the $139 aluminum (larger), They got the 2 ton version also but $199. Both are light weight and no need to roll up on boards (lower profiles).

This is the lager one I've gotten:

Saves lots of time, rapid pump (less pumps to get car off the ground).
