they look exactly like some DIY headlights to me... maybe you could just save time with buying them.

i don't remember jdm turn signals being black like that...

The DIY is pretty easy.

I'd much rather spend the $10.00 in paint and still have some reflectivity.

I'd rather spend the extra $200 and go JDM

For the price they don't look that bad. I like the fact that I could spend less than half the price of the JDM units (they are $600 CDN here) and have my original lights as back up in case of any problems.

you might as well spend your money on hid projectors and ballasts, and take your time to do the diy yourself

HID's= $1200 or more CDN
These lights are about $200 CDN.

That leaves me with a grand to spend elsewhere. That's an intake, a cat-back, brakes, etc.

I'm not knocking those who have spent the money, but if there's an alternative, why not take it?

It's all about what works for you and your ride. OEM, JDM, USDM, UKDM, whatever...you do what's good for you.

I'll get off my soapbox now....

man i am willing to do someones headlights for them for $50. i cant see spending that kinda money on something i can do with my own two hands imo.

i agree with sinister

but these are a good option for people that have wrecked their car and need new headlights

<==============EXAMPLE ^^^^^^^^^

my diy came out real good too..damn accident...just buying these over the 300+ dollar oems seems like a good alternative

some times...the aftermarket stuff isn't as good because of how the reflector housing is made...your 'beam pattern' can scatter everywhere.

PAPITUYO326
05-16-2004, 07:28 AM
yea thats what has kept me from bying em

if ya notice. the outside corner isnt reflective and neither is the lil circle on top of our main lights. This is the only thing keepin me from goin ahead and buying em. well that and mounting problems that could arise if the lights arent made well

I don't think those non-reflective areas are a big deal.

I have to be honest here, the reason I am defending them (sorta) is that I had some money to spend (just paid off all my credit cards) and decided to go for it.

I always say it costs you something to learn something. If they don't work, I'll post it, be out $200 but it'll save others time, energy and cash.

If they do work, then all the better. I'll have a set of new JDM-wannabe (I would still be able to sleep at night) lights with the OEM set as backup.

Like I said, I'll post pics and reviews as soon as they arrive.

Those don't look half bad. My only concern would be that the signal light inner housing won't reflect any light. Can you take a couple shots from a distance? I'd like to see how they look with the mugen grill.

Just got them. Can't wait to get home and put them in. They actually look really good. They were really well packed. I see what you all mean about the lack of reflection on the turn signal. We shall see...

To the guys who bought them, did you notice any condensation inside?

Rwecked
05-25-2004, 04:26 PM
The actual lense is identical to the OEM lense as far as I can tell. It seems really well sealed. The whole unit appears to be very well constructed. Like I said, I just got them home so I'll take some pics and post them tomorrow.

here is an easier way to see the pics. looks really good looking in my opinion, might have to pick up a set of these depending on how they look after a rainy day. im not spending money on headlights and then have them fog up.

ok so how do they do in the rain? any fogging up... please i need to know. my main problem was fitment. the pics you gave me prove that fitment definately isnt a problem, but i'm a little scared that they might not be sealed properly.

Ok, so I get to my car around 10pm last night. No problems. Drive home, notice that the beam pattern is a bit screwy. No big deal though, I can live with it.

Park the car 20 mins later and take another look and there's condensation all over the inside of the signal light side of the headlights. Get all pissed off, crack the hood open, give the lights as best of a tweak as I can manage (kinda tough without pulling the headlights off again).

This morning when I go out to the car, all the condensation is gone. Wierd. Went out for lunch and still no problem. I'm going to run it throught the carwash on the way home to test them again. Worst case senario, I yank the bumper and lights off again, and really crank those bulbs on tight.

Aside from that everyone likes 'em, the turn signals and driving lights light up just fine, and they look cool.
