Gauging interest: JDM Red "H" on your KEY

UPDATE:
Since there was so much interest expressed in this thread and the poll, I decided to go ahead and start producing the Red "H" for all 2003+ Hondas. Here's my vendor sales thread:

Unfortunately, this will only work on 2003 and 2004 keys.
2002 keys don't have the mini emblem on them. :(

This is a similar mod to my Red "H" for the steering wheel, only you would install it on the "H" emblem on your ignition KEY. I would guesstimate the pricing at 3 decals for $10 shipped.

I agree, I would LOVE to have a red H on my key but I worry about the wear and tear....

What would you expect the average life of one of these stickers to be for the average driver? By average I mean someone who has other keys on their chain, puts them in their pockets, drops them, throws them around a bit, etc etc.

I only use "high performance" vinyl, which is extremely durable, but as I said, keys are prone to getting beat up when thrown around, and most people have more than 1 key on their ring which can cause scratches. I'm pretty sure it would hold up well, but if there's enough interest and I start making them, I will torture test them before I start selling...lol...That's another reason I said 3 for $10, so you get extras in case they start showing wear after a few months.

i dunno about you guys but the only keys on my keychain are my car key, and the remote unlock thats it. ive always been told that if you have alotta keys on the chain it could possibly strip out the ignition, dunno if its true or not tho lol. but anyways the less keys on the keychain the less it will get beat up.;)

totally not true.. I think you would have to have about 10 pounds worth of keys for that to happen.

I have my car key, remote, house key, mailbox key, parents house key, oh, and an egyptian coin attached.:D

cant... the 02 keys and 03 keys are cut completely different. The 03 and up keys are laser cut. you cant just go to any locksmith and have them make a duplicate.

and when i came back to pick up my new ones they were the cheap 02 ones (no offence 02 owners) AND my car is a 04.

The 02-older keys are just normal style keys. You can have any locksmith make you a copy, but w/o the immobilizer the key won't start your car.

The 03+ keys are "reverse" cut. There is no way someone can have both 02 and 03-newer style keys because the 03 keys have a different cut to them. It's hard to explain, but look carefully at Adam's key in his picture...

And now look at your normal house key or a lock key. Adam's key has the cut to it, plus it still retains part of the key blade on the outer edges while the 02-older style keys has the cut on the outer edges like your normal house key. It's hard to explain, you just gotta compare the two keys, they're totally different in cut design. So you can't just go to Honda and have 03 keys cut for your 02 or vice versa.

Also, the rubber part of the key that houses the immobilizer is also different. The 03 has the miniture H and the 02-olders don't, well they do but it's imbedded into the key it's not a miniture emblem. Hope this clears it for some of you.
