ctr wing 3rd brake (wiring ?)

i just bought a cf ctr wing for my car went on nice but i tried to wire it to the 3rd brake light and nothing and i know pawer is going through it ??? do i have to ground the wire directly to the chasis or something i need help here???any one know what to do im having trouble hooking this thing up

i got the wing and since its from japan the wiring colors are different black goes to red and red goes to black. pretty simple

well i finally solved it ..the top light doesnt have enough power so i wired it through the tails ran all the wiring stealth so nothing shows and i smoked the clear strip its look crazy now!!!! so much better smoked then not smoked
