I used to get 235 miles before the light came on. Now I'm getting 300 miles before the light comes on.

This is only now that I'm using synthetic oil.

Mine's probably slightly higher as well (since the switch to synthetic). I used to average about 230-250, lately I've been getting 250-280 with synthetic.

This was the case with my wrx, as well.

I get about 250-275 on the 5w20 oil. But 75% of my driving is interstate.:D

I haven't been able to find 5w20 anywhere. I use 5w30

I def found a huge improvement using synthetics...The mileage difference was incredible once I switched. I'm waiting for this new motor to break in before I go back....:D

yup, no one makes it. Mobil One has 0-30 and 5-30

only Royal Purple and AMSoil sell synthetic 5-20

though if mobil one made it i'd prefer it over the AMS i'm using now, it's good oil but Mobil-1 is OEM in almost all top end sports cars & exotics :)

They have 0w-30? I could only find 0w-20.

Anyways, I didnt notice much of a difference in mileage when I switched to 0w-20 mobil 1, but when i switched to 5w-30 recently, I noticed my gas mileage sorta dropped, but I'm guessing thats because I've been doing a bit more city driving lately. :p

I think I am going to change over on my next oil change. If I have some extra cash I might change out my trans fluid to synthetic this weekend. There is only one place in my local area that carries Royal Purple.

Actually Castrol also makes 5w-20 synthetic. Castrol Syntec, which i am currently using, but I haven't really noticed any change in gas mileage yet.

Yo Zero i've been using 0w20 Mobil1 plus i think AutoZone has the Mobil1 in 5w20. If that helps. From day one i have gotten 300 miles per tank.I just started putting in regular gas now i get 280.
Later Mike,:D

i switched over to Mobil 1 0w-20 when I hit 5K miles, then just recently changed it to Mobil 1 5w-30 at 10K miles. From what I've gathered on this site, its good to use the "break-in" factory oil for around 5K, but Im sure everyone is different.

300 miles before the light comes on? wouldnt that mean your getting about 360+ miles a gallon? Thats pretty damn good.

Yea thats my situation too. I didn't notice a mileage difference either. I think thats cuz I've been driving alot quicker since it runs so smooth now.
