boosting the crv ? jus put more money into ur ep and keep the crv as a daily driver.

I second the Element.. EX with that sub in the front. Not bad at all for an economy car. Can't deny the backseat legroom!

i am gettin a good deal on it. actually the crv has way more features than the element, and i like it better. this isn't 100% anyway yet have to wait on the insurance for my 00 and have to get some final numbers.

+ 1 vote for the ELement!

We've had one since Dec. It was better than the CRV's we tested in every regard. Ride comfort, power, practicality and road noise were all plus' for the Element vs the CRV. We must've test driven 5 of each.

CR-V is 200 lbs LIGHTER than the Element.
CR-V wheels are LIGHTER.
Both have the same HP/TQ (actually 1 lb-ft difference...lol).

So how could the Element have better power? ;)

do they have same ratio trannies? I dunno perhaps the Element has a really short first gear, and they just floored it from a stop? That's my hypothesis...

i am gonna go with the crv. i have a 16 month old niece, and i like the fact that it has 3 seats in the back. i also like that the rear seats slide back and forth and recline like buckets. both vehicles are nice, but i like the crv all around better.

Anj probably hit it on the head. I can honestly say that the Element was better on the butt dyno. I can't give you the technicalities as to why but was just explaining my observations. Perhaps it was the tail wind...:p ;)

Good luck Dave....

My dad drives an 04 CRV, 5-speed of course. Its not that bad and very accomodating with the intricacies that Honda added to the inside.

a CRV would be a nice sleeper..

put a RSX type S head on it w/ a supercharger

that would be a fun sleeper..
make sure u get a 5spd

Is that a Burn's Honda CR-V in your first post? They're a pretty good dealer.

My dad just traded in a '03 BMW 325i for a white '04 CR-V...I don't know. Compared to the Element the seating position and the way everything is layed out is REALLY awkward. Bigger guys don't look right in them too ... I feel awkward even sitting in it let alone driving. I don't like the way the back door opens, the way it looks ... the list goes on with me.

+1 for the Element :D sorry.

yeah its from burns. my dad works there, so i'm gettin a good deal. if you dont like the crv, why did you trade yur car in for one?

There's not many people around bigger than me and I have no problems fitting in our CR-V.

Also, You don't like the backdoor of the CR-V, but have no complaint about the suicide doors of the Element? What a pain in the ass that is! My friend has an Element and it sucks that rear passengers cannot exit unless the front passengers get out. It's especially annoying when everyone's trying to exit the vehicle while parked close to another car, it's almost impossible. That and the fact that the Element is only a 4 seater, are really my only 2 issues w/ the Element, but it was enough for us to choose the CR-V over it.

black 02si - i didn't trade in to buy a CR-V, my dad did... him and I don't get along great, maybe that could be tainting my persception of it.

Adam - I kinda like the suicide doors, lol. I guess they would get in the way if you were parked to someone close ... I dunno I always park far away from everyone else too so the door thing is never really an issue. True about the 4 seater deal... maybe it's because I'm young and like the fact I can hose out the Element after a day at the beach or something :)

The awkward driving position is just IMO ... I felt really wierd driving and sitting in it and I'm 6'1" 190lbs ... for some reason I didn't get the same feeling in an Element .. I dunno.

No matter what the CR-V is still a Honda and I have tons of respect for that - it just doesn't strike my fancy. How about a Pilot? :D

Black 02 SI
05-19-2004, 01:30 PM
oh, ok i thought you traded it in for one. the pilot is def nicer, but dont really want to pay that much for a daily driver. and like adam said, i like the element, but the few things that the crv has that the element doesnt has made me want the crv. i think the reson you felt better in the element is cause the roof is like 2 ft above yur head, lol. the crv has a lot of head room too though.
