u usually can't go too low with real coilovers.

i want to go like at least 2 if not 2.5 hum. they also forgot to install the rear camber kit....would this make a difference in the height of the car??

no camber kit wont effect ride height...

and just adjust the coilovers til you get the height you like - dont fuss over the exact measurements! thats why you got coilovers right??

yeah......but i dont understand something because i have my perch all the way down to the bottom and my car only got lowered about 1.5 inches. was i suppose to specify what spring rates i wanted when i ordered the coilovers from urbanimport?

i've got the as well and my rear is at like 1 finger and a half gap at max drop....and my fronts have about half a finger gap and i still have about 1/4 way to go before max drop.

the drop on the rear was fine for me because i live in jersey and the roads around here sucksucksuck. other than that i think the drop is fine

you can specify what spring rates you want if you had specific spring rates in mind...
but that doesnt have anythign to do with your actual ride height (unless you want springs that are soft as hell)
if your locking perch is all the way down then- yes thats as low as it goes...
your only alternative is to get shorter coils but make sure you have enough shock travel

how much does d2 lower?

kpjumper
05-25-2004, 10:17 AM
alright.........i just called urban imports and i come to find out that they sent me the wrongs springs for the rear. they sent me some 7 inch springs when i was suppose to get some 5 inch springs.....its cool though, they said they are going to send me the correct ones, hopefully ....

SoCaLep3
05-25-2004, 10:52 AM
so does this mean that it will lower more then 1.5 in?

kpjumper
05-25-2004, 01:15 PM
yeah, it should lower it a couple more inches. but hopefully urbanimport will come through with the correct springs

why does it seem that the d2's don't go any lower than 1 1/2"?
i'm about to get a set. can someone clarify this? i need at least 2 1/2 drop. gotta talk to mike. what's this about custom spring rates, i thought they came with a standard rate?

kpjumper

hey d2's can go lower than 1.5 its just that my specific set that urbanimport sent me cant go lower than 1.5 at least the rear cant because they sent me the wrong set of springs. i got 7 inch springs for the back instead of getting 5 inch springs......thats why mine cant go lower than 1.5. but they said that they are going to send me the correct springs....

props to mike @ urbanimport. real helpful, but i know he could've offered me a better price. still a reasonable deal. i just hope they send me the right set. thanx for the info.

alright.....here's the deal. as previously mentioned before, i had an issue with my rear springs for my d2 coilover kit. so i called urban import and had them send me the correct set. i recieved it in the mail last week and i come to find out that they sent me the same exact springs i had initially. So i am asking for help, if anybody can help me with some picture of the rear springs or if anybody knows the length of the rear springs. My springs in the rear are 7 inches in length, which doesn't let me lower the rear any lower than 1.5 inches or so. i want to go lower but i cant, the perch is all the way at the bottom.......man, what to do.....

*scratching head*

now i'm worried. mike told me, that your issue was d2 sent the wrong springs. anyone else with this setup. i need a hand here as well. i just recieved my set and camber kits. i need to know before i install these. now i'm gettin a bad feelin.

TIA

I am going to have to double check mine.... it there any part number for the rear? I don't remember if I saw one. Are there any identifying markings to be able to tell whether or not I have the correct springs?

Any how the heck am I going to get new ones? This is my daily driver, I can't just take the springs off and ship them back!!!

kay.

i just talked to mike. so far most d2 owners are satisfied with their purchase. the front will lower at least 3" & the rear, no more than 3.5"

now to find a lift to install these bad boys.

suggestion:
test fit them(fronts first)

kpjumper
06-10-2004, 12:33 PM
alright, yeah the rear springs should be about 5 inches in length.....then i would be able to lower my car about 3.5 inches. but nooooo they sent me 7 inch springs twice....

psylovibe

i installed mine, and my rear seems to be a whole lot higher than 1.5 inch for some reason? I set the measurement to max low. I dunnno whats up? mad late find out if settled in tomorrow.

halos02Si
06-12-2004, 09:56 PM
i dont know exact measurement in inches but i know they settled a bit more after driving around for a bit, but its actually at max drop for me in the rear, but in the front i can easily tuck my tire....other than that i live in jersey and the roads arent like living in cali so the rear height is actually fine....but unfortunately it looks like thats as far as it goes in the rear. hope i helped a bit
