Hello all,
Well this weekend i finally got off my ass and did my own stereo install. I had taken out all my audio equipment out of my accord v6 coupe before i traded it for my EP. 5 hours later and about 6 beers in the hole. The system is installed. I started with my HU install which consisted of using the OEM cubby hole and making my own "custom" faceplate" using the a hacked 2002 civic lx kit (only kit available to me). I was able to use all the factory mounting brackets and the aftermarket sleeve to secure my radio to the dash, the faceplate came out well IMO (fully sanded and custom fit NO GAPS!). Next i will be color matching the black part you see to the rest of the dash (see link below for picture). Next was the installation of my amplifier (notice no wires are visable at all ! --see links--) The hardest part of the amp install was running the wires themselves as the underside of the dash in our EP's are JAMMED with crap (wires, boxes, control modules, aliens, dogs, kitchen sink etc.) I drilled a hole in the fire wall near the power steering linkage and utilized a rubber grommet to complete a neat installation - i really searched trying to utilize an existing hole to snake my power wire but i just couldnt find one.-- I ran the power wire underneath the plastic door sill and underneath the back seats all the way up into the rear seat cover (luckily it unzips) and terminated the connections @ the amplifier. Same goes for my RCA's and my remote wire. The ground for the amplifier is terminated near the rear strut .

Thoughts:
2 12's in a hatchback fuggin pound!
Nothing beats FOSGATE AMPS/SUBS IMO
The HU that i have is simply the best allowing me subwoofer control, tweeter controls, even cellular phone controls.! GREAT HU! (pioneer)

Price to install:
Free thanks to an open saturday and plenty of beer. :)

Difficulty level 1-10 10 being hardest
7 - IMO

all interior speakers are stock (im not really into car audio to much)

BOX -- YEA i know its a Best Buy original:confused: !! Its heavy as a mofo.... I will be getting rid of that box in favor of something smaller and lighter. but it will do for now. all the equipment came off my old AV6 (space/weight savings werent an issue like it is now)

dashkit - thanks, took me awhile to get right. -

thanks --joe :)
