if the 04 si sits 1 inch lower than the 03 and older, than wouldnt it be pointless to get pro kits on my car since they were meant to lower the 02-03 si's about an inch?

The 04 isn't 1" lower then 02-03, so problem solved. It's actually listed .2" higher, 56.7 vs 56.5. But to answer your question, prokits would still have a benefit. They are a little stiffer then stock which means better weight transfer, transitions, etc.

i just read somewhere that the 04 si's come stock with hfp suspension so i guess i was mis lead by that. i think i will end up getting pro kits anyway. people say its only 2 finger gap all around. that is a perfect drop for me. i dont want to go too low.

04's do not come with the hfp suspension stock. you can buy one with the hfp suspension on there but you will be paying extra for it. better to just get aftermarket suspension.

I think the reason why the 04 does sit .2" higer then the 02-03 is because the 04 is running a 16" wheel and tire opposed to a 15".

exactly, the rear sway was increased in diameter and a few other suspension upgrades, handles just a little better, but not any lower
