Surprises me that insurance wont go with aftermarket goodies, they are almost always cheaper! (insurance loves to take take take, and likes to give as little as possible!)

Good luck with insurance, be sure to take your frustation out on your rental!!

edit: they just cut checks minus deductable in IL too

My insurance wanted nothing to do with aftermarket parts either. Of course I only had 2800 miles on it at the time but they insisted only OE parts. Normally that'd be super cool (so no cheap quality parts are used) but like you guys said.... the custom aftermarket parts are alot less expensive than OE and for non structural parts who gives a shit if its fiberglass instead of plastic. When I wrecked my pickup truck a few years back I got the check for OE parts but everything that went on it was not from GM. :D insurance companies are weird and often time contradictory to themselves. (thats a whole 'nother story from a recent house fire at my place... )

any pics? my insurance estimate was 7460 i'll be getting a check for it sometime this week. already had a shop start on it. I had receipts for my flares, buddy club bumper, buddy club spoiler and carbon fiber decklid that was damaged in the accident. They paid for it all.

When i had my wreck it was over $9000 and i didnt have a car for 3 months. Luckly i didnt have any after market parts damaged really, just the filter on my CAI, but luckly the body shop guys were somewhat cool and stragithed that all up

i got cut a check for 7k when i got hit in my altima. But i had to go with all OEM parts....I only did this because i needed the car back ASAP and OEM parts are easier to get bodywise than Altima ones.

In your case im pretty sure they will give you a check for the damage to take to your body shop, you go to the body shop and tell them what you want. pretty much same thing as everyone else has stated.
