the pop was probably your SRI coming off.. sounds stupid.. but make sure the hose clamp is on very tight. A friend of mine kept blowing his intercooler piping clamp and it would sound exactly the way you are describing.. It was the fact he had the wrong size clamp on. Now he has the correct clamp and on tight and nothing has happened since.

Ryan, get rid of that SRI and get a CAI. You will notice the difference ;) Other than that, since then has the EP been running fine? Also put the ride on the jack stands and check out your exhaust, something you could have hit or something might be loose. Also let her run and see if you feel anything and get a someone to turn it off and watch to see how the exhaust reacts. How it moves when it shuts off, could give you a idea of what it is doing when you are in reverse.
