On one hand those are totally sweet and cool. On the other hand, you and your door will probably get destroyed being broadsided by a small skooter at moderate speed.

Unless it's like "real" carbon fiber and not the fiberglass-filled and backed stuff. But if it were "real" carbon fiber the doors would probably cost closer to $3000+ each...

if u get a scratch it cant be repainted CF

if the clear coat cracks the weaves look like shit.

Its not like the MUGEN cf doors where its 100% cf. these are probably like most VIS products where its CF with fiber glass backing. Good for body kits hoods etc but id be too scared to rock em. If u get into an accident ur basically dead. Reason why i wont pimp major CF body panels.

i am getting the whole front end and it for performance/show.and do you actually think that this car will get left in a mall parking lot while i go shopping.no dont think so thats what the old beater toyota truck is for.this car is meant to see the track every once in awhile and ep meets and shows.oh and every now and again for the (sunday)drive.

just the door weighs in at around 25 lbs.a whole lot lighter than stock.friday when i start working on the car i will get exact weights of both cf and oem doors.

make sure you vacuum your interior before you go to the track... sand in the carpet adds weight.

fiber images makes the fenders for around $700.im waiting for mine from vis thru showstoppers.no they are not on yet.and yes i am dying to get them on just like evrone else but i have a few things that have to get done first.

Very Nice Love the Look of CF.. But one thing I remember you saying this is gonna be a show/performance car and not really driven that much.. I would call your insurance and get a show car policy on your car which is a set value policy.. If you have regular insruance covg the insruance will drop you if they find out youve done these things to the car and replaced the safety equip. yadda yadda ya know :)

I work at Geico in the CLaims dept and weve had to turn down so many people because of them doing mods to there car where its unsafe and not switching over..

The only bad thing to a show car policy is your only allowed to drive the car so many miles.. so its def not for a daily driven car!!

But good luck with everything and cant wait to see the pics!! :D

I agree with you, but my reasoning is different. I don't consider myself an enthusiast, I'm just a guy that likes his stock si. If you like to make your car perform better, that's awesome, and good for you, but I don't really understand paying a ton of money for parts that don't do anything.

I do want to see what the doors look like installed though.

well i have the mugen cf hood from ss and i will be recieving the fenders soon.my mirrors will be back later on next week.and now i am tring to get a cf kit made.hatch will come alittle later.but what exactly are you talking about doing?

the kit i am tring to get made out of cf is the 5axis kit.you know the one on the sparco si.i think that would help out since it has the fender flares.but no luck so far in my attempts.

Iagree with the painting idea.

1- You get the weight reduction...
2- People don't notice it (people meaning shady thieving bastards)
3- It is not so bad if you get a ding or small crack since you can fix it and paint over it again

I had planned on replacing as many panels as I could with painted cf, but that has to wait till after the new motor, turbo, etc...
