2 page article on page #66

about the mugen ep3 and laymens terms on the aftermarket parts

the specs are kinda shitty

base says 19k
total value of the king ep3 is 48k
and 1/4 = 14.6

so if your reading the mag and you have NO idea about cars
it gives off the impression that even with 30k in it :)

its slow

but nice to see in a non car mag

You can build the same car for alot less and get better times on the quarter mile while still being a daily driven car. Although it does sound alot better when you say you have spent alot more than you really have.:)

Ugh, bad specs, you can probably beat that 1/4 mile time with less than $2000 (2 slicks + hondata + springs + motormounts + CAI + midpipe + some light gutting) but I dont think the car was designed specifically for the drag strip, or those stats are exactly accurate anyways... its still dead sexy.

The King/Mugen EP3 is nice, but only some learning disabled would spend $48,000 on a damn civic. Get a 'real' sports car if you've got $50k to spend.

Contrary to popular belief, not every car is modded to just go fast in a straight line. :D

baby, slicks hondata motormounts intake and midpipe, you'll be PAST 14.6, no need for gutting.

but yeah, yay stuff.

But then again, it's illegal to drive a real sports car on the streets.

I dont think nobody would ever spend 48G'S on an EP. No matter what you put in our cars it is still gonna be a Honda Civic. It is still incomparable to most european cars. It is a reality.

The thing about 1/4 mile times is that its a big indicator of traction, while they are used to compare power. Imagine if the Si came stock with even a slightly sticker tire like the ES-100. All the initial braking, slalom and 1/4 mile tests would have been skewed upward in all the magazines.. making the car more highly recommended.

As for spending $40K+ on an EP3, I'd be looking in the hatchback for the relocated engine, and up front for the TSX wishbone suspension conversion.
