is it possible to take apart the 04 tail lights and remove that orange piece??? im located in hawaii and i dont think anyone down here would trade for their 02-03 tails (plus theirs only a number or EP's down here). so i was thinking if i could just DIY my 04 tails to make it just red/clear. has anyone done it? HELP ME OUT PLEASE!

Great idea but I'm not sure....

I know the 02/03's are melted together which makes it almost impossible to open them up without destroying/damaging them (I tried). They're nothing like the headlights which are held by that silicone adhesive. Maybe the 04 tails are different??? If so, it'd be one hell of a mod :)

Like that? These are the 04 european tails. They should fit your SI, too. ;)

They are about 90 dollars, you can get them from any Honda dealer in Germany. :)

The german (or european?) part numbers for the 04 taillights are the following. ;)

Left taillight: 33551-S5S-G31
Right taillight: 33501-S5S-G31

Two small indicator bulbs are required as well: 34901-SB3-671

I just tried taking apart the 04 tails...theyre assembled the same as the 02/03's...you can try to take them apart but you just end up breaking the lenses...guess someone had to try, right? does anyone have a right tail i could buy? ;)

Hey everyone,
I was just wondering, since people are having problems taking the tail lights apart. Can't you just throw them in the oven just like people do to get the headlights apart?

yeah what he just said.

no, thats what we tried doing...since there is no silicon that holds the two plastic pieces together, there is nothing there to melt (aside from the plastic itself which would ruin the tail lights) to pull the two pieces apart. The healdlights are assembled using silicon to hold the two pieces together and therefore can pull apart relatively easily once heated in the oven.
