I posted this on H-T while this site was down, but I originally wanted to post it here, so here it is.

I Have never seen an 04 ep with blacked out Headlights, so I thought I would do it. and here it is...
http://www.we-todd-did-racing.com/wetoddimage.wtdr/wNDI0MjEwNnM0MTNkZmQzMXk1NDE%3D.jpg

Start by removing your bumper, there are a couple of clips on the bottom and the top of the bumper. also some 4 screws. 2 underneath the bumper, and two holding the bumper to the fender.

http://www.we-todd-did-racing.com/wetoddimage.wtdr/wNDI0MjExNnM0MTNkZmQzMXk1NDE%3D.jpg

Then start removing the bolts holding the headlights:

http://www.we-todd-did-racing.com/wetoddimage.wtdr/wNDI0MjE1NnM0MTNkZmQzMXk1NDE%3D.jpg

http://www.we-todd-did-racing.com/wetoddimage.wtdr/wNDI0MjE2NnM0MTNkZmQzMXk1NDE%3D.jpg

Pull out the headlight assembly, if you run into any problems move the bar right under the headlight, it slides right out.

http://www.we-todd-did-racing.com/wetoddimage.wtdr/wNDI0MjE3NnM0MTNkZmQzMXk1NDE%3D.jpg

Remove all the plugs with the lights attached to them.

http://www.we-todd-did-racing.com/wetoddimage.wtdr/wNDI0MjE4NnM0MTNkZmQzMXk1NDE%3D.jpg

At this point, you can replace the ugly parking lights with some autozone blue ones.

http://www.we-todd-did-racing.com/wetoddimage.wtdr/wNDI0MjE5NnM0MTNkZmQzMXk1NDE%3D.jpg

Your car should look like this now, if you did the above steps "bilaterally"

http://www.we-todd-did-racing.com/wetoddimage.wtdr/wNDI0MjIwNnM0MTNkZmQzMXk1NDE%3D.jpg

Now, preheat your oven to 200 degrees, and place the assembly in the oven for 10-12 minutes.

http://www.we-todd-did-racing.com/wetoddimage.wtdr/wNDI0MjIxNnM0MTNkZmQzMXk1NDE%3D.jpg

Then take it out and slowly pull off the lens after you have bent back the 5 or 6 clips that surround it. It takes some persuasion, so don't be afraid to use a little muscle.

http://www.we-todd-did-racing.com/wetoddimage.wtdr/wNDI0MjIyNnM0MTNkZmQzMXk1NDE%3D.jpg

it should look like this now.

http://www.we-todd-did-racing.com/wetoddimage.wtdr/wNDI0MjIzNnM0MTNkZmQzMXk1NDE%3D.jpg

unclip the two pieces that are together, there should be two screws. Also, take out the lens of the turn signal. It snaps right off...

http://www.we-todd-did-racing.com/wetoddimage.wtdr/wNDI0MjI0NnM0MTNkZmQzMXk1NDE%3D.jpg

Take some sand paper to the chromed finish and find somewhere to paint it, preferably not where I did :crook:

http://www.we-todd-did-racing.com/wetoddimage.wtdr/wNDI0MjI3NnM0MTNkZmQzMXk1NDE%3D.jpg

first coat:

http://www.we-todd-did-racing.com/wetoddimage.wtdr/wNDI0MjI4NnM0MTNkZmQzMXk1NDE%3D.jpg

and keep applying to your satisfaction...

http://www.we-todd-did-racing.com/wetoddimage.wtdr/wNDI0MjI5NnM0MTNkZmQzMXk1NDE%3D.jpg

Put the lights back in the oven (assebled), using the above settings. After that is done, you can manually manipulate the lens so that it fits.

Let it cool, then place it back on your EP3 using the reverse order of sequence outlined above.

http://www.we-todd-did-racing.com/wetoddimage.wtdr/wNDI0MjM1NnM0MTNkZmQzMXk1NDE%3D.jpg

Now, the bumper. Make sure you put all the fittings just like you found it. The Viola, you should have your new and IMO improved 04 lights.

I didn't really like the way it looked stock, so I took a gamble on it. I love the way it looks. Next week, im gonna be doing this to the chrome on the back lights...

-Rob

Thanx to Jorran for the big helping hand...

Heres a pic with the lights on.

and off...

fits yes, but wiring no, you have to get the 04 harness for the headlights as they ar not H4 bulbs anymore

Hey Rob,
The instructions for the '02-'03 had some silicone applying during the re-assembly... are you sure that you won't get any condinsation in there? ...hope not

after doing this, did you have to re-seal it with silicone or did you use the regular silicone when you heated it back up? also, did your headlights fog up after a while or are they still clean? please help me out cuz me and my friend are gonna do ours. he has the 02 headlights, and i have 04 ones. and i want to know so that i can buy some silicone just in case. thanks.

word! would it be a good idea if i put sealant on the pieces BEFORE i stick them in the oven??? that way when it comes out, it'll all be covered with sealant all around, then just grab some clamps or something and clamp them down to get it snug tight??? would that work????
