Hey guys, I'm a newbie here looking into getting the new Si. I was wondering how bad the insurance payments were on this car. What're you guys paying out there (pls include where you live and how old you are)? How does the insurance on the Si compare to other cars like the RSX/Celica etc?

Also, what're people paying for these cars? I've heard of huge markups by some dealers.

Oh, btw, I live in L.A. and I'm 26.

Thanks!

Since insurance can vary so much from different individuals, why don't you just call your broker, and then call a few others to see.
All of this depends on your driving record and so on.

As for the price of the car, do a search on here and you will find a few discussion on what people have paid.

With me and my fiance, me 23, she 29 we have two cars, a 1.8t golf and my si. Both are leased and we pay about $230/month in seattle. Once we're married that should drop.

I pay $86 a month here in Canada. Keep in mind I have a perfect record (knock on wood) and I'm OLD.

Getting old has a few advantages: I pay about $50/month for full coverage on my Miata, while my fiancee pays less than that for our '00 Si.

5,127 Is that dollars? per year? or Pesos? How can that be affordable?

No doubt... that's a substantial car payment... not insurance.

Ah, ha! There is an advantage to being a old guy (and an old guy who knows how to stay below the scan of a radar gun): My annual premium for my Si (as a second car) is $440 a year.

2002 Camaro SS, 2001 VW GTi, and 2002 Civic Si roughly $3,000 every 6 months. Makes the Civic Si about $250 a month I believe.

I just got my Si quoted today and it's 1380/ 6 months.

NOTE: Full coverage, 18 years old, couple speeding tickets (they say they don't affect my rates)

Damn.

I'm 18, I have a few speeding tickets, and a couple wrecks and my insurance company is canceling me in October because of my driving record! Anyone know of an insurance company that accepts young drivers with a few tickets? I'm already paying $250 a month and I don't really want to pay much more.

Mine's about $1200/yr. My agent told me that the Si is not much more than a regular civic.
