Will 225/50-15 tires fit on stock rims and will that fit in the fenders of my EP3? I have lowered it 1.5 inches using Eibach Sportline springs.

I have searched and came up dry I am sure that someone must know if this will fit without rubbing, how about a little help!!!

i think chunky is running 225/50s on his stockies and is lowered. i don't think he's run into any problems. 225s are too wide for my tastes though. why not just 215s?

our stock rims are 15x6

im thinking 225/50 would be way too wide.. just go with 215/50 or 205/50

205/50/15 is what you want, you dont need any wider, thats why rota slipstreams are only 6.5 inches wide, as front wheel drive cars we dont need slicks to run a circut track...

what if youre not lowered at all. would 205/50/15 still be a good choice ? I daily drive and go to the track once or twice a month. Why wouldnt i want 195/50/15 s? (stock)? Please help, thanks

Any time you can go wider with a lower aspect ratio it is better. Honda used 195/50-15 from the factory for things like cost, rolling resistance which equates into fuel economy, ride quality. Rarely is performance at the top of the list. So if you are willing to sacrifice some of these qualities for performance than it is an improvement. 205/55-15 is almost a perfect rolling diameter match for our cars and will sacrifice almost nothing for better grip.

225/50/15's are almost the same as stock overall diameter as well, and they will definately fit under the fenders with no rubbing problems. The only question will be if the stock wheels are wide enough. I think they are, but am not sure.

Chunky is running 225/50's, but not on stock wheels, he is running on OZ Supraleggras which are 15 x 7, and the stockies are 15 x 6.5.

I checked the Yokohama website and they say that a 225/50-15 will fit a 6 inch rim. So if they won't rub then I guess they fit. How do I reach chunky to see if he is running this tire combo?

Another question slightly different. What kind of mileage are you guys getting from your tires? I got 27,000 km from the original Michelin MXV4 195/60-15's the UTQG is 400 I am hoping that the next set of tires I buy will be slightly better. I am new to sport compacts and previously have used Michelin X-ones with a UTQG of 600 and I got like 150,000 km mind you the X-One is designed as a passenger tire, not performance. I have a daily driver so I am looking to get a decent mileage is 27,000 km decent?
