well i've been off in college the past couple months and haven't been driving my ep around too much. so i was wondering when do you all change your oil? should i wait till the light comes on or go by the sticker the dealer put on my winshield when my brother took it in a while back? i remember seeing somewhere people get their oil changed every 5000 miles i believe? well whats best cuz i'm pretty sure its oil changing time...it sucks bein away from my ep for so long:(

I change it every 3,000. Waiting for the light to come on is not good. Be safe and do it every 3k, 5k at most. your car will thank you in the long run.

maint. req. light is not exactly the best interval to change your oil either.

Car companies do that so that it wears on their engines more so that the car will last as long time, typically 5-6 years then start having major problems. But obviously, as the saying goes, you can never change your oil too much. My car was religiously changed every 3k miles and I'm about 400 miles away from hitting 200,000 miles - it pays off :)

i think that said only if your driving in normal conditions which means no reving no stop and go traffic basically living in the country...but if your in a city it should be 5000 according to the manual book but 3000 is the normal mark on my first oil change i did my first oil change at 6000 then after that every 3000:D

i'm running AMSoil 5w20 and i change it every 5,000 , since the factory says 10k (which is BS) and with synthetic being so expensive, i just split it down the middle 10k vs. 3k =5k

My friend changes his royal purple every 10K, and his Accord is around 130K miles and still runs strong!

I change my oil every 6K-6.5K and I'm running Mobil 1 Synth 5w-30.

So i guess my 2000-2200 mile mark is a little early? :D

My wife drives 1.5 miles to work (one way) 4 days a week with her daily driver (3 miles a day!). So, I'm changing oil in that vehicle every 1800 to 2500 miles since those short trips are hell on that motor.

A 10,000 mile oil change interval would be O.K. if your car never was in extreme temperatures, only saw highway miles at moderate speeds and you used a high quality motor oil. But, I doubt many people have these conditions... I vote for every 3000 miles for an oil change.
