I just moved to the city (Phoenix, AZ) and I'm starting to think a lot more about security. I have heard that Hondas and Acuras are being stole at a tantamount rate with just "Jiggle Keys" ...

I have an 02 Si, with the standard Honda Key. in 03 they went to the new shaft type. Does anyone know, can my 02 Si be opened with a Jiggle Key? Second: Someone told me the 02, although it has the Immobilizer, doesn't have chipped keys. Can anyone verify this? (Please, only if you REALLY know!)

The 02's do in fact have chipped keys (immobilizer). That is one of the main reasons that we have to send our key and immobilzer along with the ECU when the Hondata reflash is being performed. Also why we have to have an immobilizer bypass for any remote start systems.

The only thing I can associate the word "jiggle" with is the female anatomy. ;)

i don't think you can steal our cars with a jiggle key. you might be able to open doors and shit... but not start it. i bought a replica CTR key for 6 bucks... didn't work. damn it

ok, thanks.

I want to make a copy of the key and try it just to check. :smilem:
I guess I'm paranoid like that, now.
