Are these HID equipped?? Where did you get them from?

kpg111
06-22-2004, 09:18 AM
The UKDM projectors aren't HID equipped, only the Japanese CTR's come with HID. That's my next step...to install HID conversion kits. ;)

I got them from Chuck of Showstoppers.

How much?

kpg111
06-22-2004, 11:25 AM
I got them, I guess when they first came in, $525 shipped. That was like three-four months ago. So I guess the prices went down a little bit.

Not true. Lots of other countries have the HID projectors as a Type-R option and most of them are LHD as well.

did you retrofit your OEM housings or is that an all new headlight housing? just curious because i remember you were selling your 04 headlights before and i was interested.

Man those things look sweet. How much better do they lite the road then OEM?

kpg111
06-23-2004, 05:00 AM
tenacious G, I'm still selling the '04 headlights and yes, my projector headlight in an all new headlight unit.

Siver-si, for an H1 halogen powered beam pattern, these projectors are awesome. But since the set I got is for RHD civics, the cut-off is to the left, not to worry, it does'nt blind on-coming traffic. I'll try to post some night time shots of the light/beam pattern to give you a better idea. Anyway, it is most definitely worth it.

did you receive new harnesses with the new projector headlights? it's my understanding that the 04 harness is different than the 02-03 ... so if i bought from you, i'd need those harnesses (and hopefully they'd be compatible with the 02-03s)

kpg111
06-24-2004, 09:31 AM
tenacious G, which harnesses are you talking about? The sockets that connects to bulbs or the whole wiring harness? Because when I got the projector lights, there was no harness included, just the lights.

When you do a HID retrofit, are you going to just replace the H1 bulb with D2S or D2R bulb + shield? Or are you going to get HID projectors + bulb + Ballast... Just saying because Halogen projectors, like Halogen free form reflectors are not meant to use HID... you surely can get away with HID + your Halogen projectors, but it could be as bad as halogen reflectors (with HID) or as good as a poorly configured HID system (cut off wise)... HID projectors have a sharper cut off, and a shield to block the lower half of the glass... and that shield is what gives the HIDs the blue shimmer... Anyways, /rant_off I'm in the middle of retrofitting HID projectors + bulb + ballasts into the OEM USDM Halogen reflector headlights, and just thought you might want to know that for the price of a good HID kit (which I would highly reccomend only the Phillips/Bosch/Osram/Phillips brands) ~400-500$ you can get a nice set of HID Projectors + bulb + ballast on ebay... I just got a complete set from an E46 BMW Bosch Bi-Xenon projectorst + Osram Xenark 4250k bulbs + Bosch Ballst for 450$ shipped. I'm about a quarter of the way done now, I'll post some pics if anyone is interested.

I always thought the 04 JDM type-r headlights were more of a gunmetal chrome finish to the housing... but I guess those ones are the same as these ones that were up on ebay a week ago:

Just wondering do those have HI and LOW beams?
Yea.
Projector itself is only low beam.
High beam is the reflector right by projectors.

I the only thing I do not like is the side veiw with the big bubble type lens. I am guessing these have these just like are US version without the HID?

So whomever installed these on their 04 Si... did you need to make a harness with relay and everything? or do the 04 Si have H1 stock? I know my 02 Si had H4 and I made a new relay for my HIDs... just trying to figure this out for future people... Does somebody have a better option already designed? I don't wanna send people on a wild goose chase converting H4 to H1 if there is some OEM part they can get and plug and go... Though upgrading to relays through the battery would be a benefit regardless.

hi
i just finished putting in my progectors . i was able to make both hi beam and low beam work . it may not be the best way but it was easy . i connected the high beam into the high beam harness on my car . i left the low beam harness alone . all i basicaly did was set it up like a aftermarket fog light . i bought a 12volt 30amp switch . ran the posivites from the low beams (projctor side) to the switch . i got my 12 power from the fuse box underneath the steering wheel . i tap into the 20amp fuse the operate heated seats . we dont have heated seats in our car , thats why i used it . the bottom of the fuse is the hot side . that went to the switch . my ground , i just went to a spot under the steering wheel . there are two bolts about like 6 in apart , i used the one closer to the fuse box . the swicth i mounted right on the fuse cover , down low . its funny becuse in doing it this way i can control the lights with my lever on the steering wheel just like on the 4 beam setup (stock) . but the switch has to be on to operate the low beam . for anyone who dose not mind a little switch and i little sodering . you can try it this way . i do have the wiring diagrams for 02 , 03 and 04 setup if anyone would like to see it. any questions just ask . the lights look awsome . i will get hid coversion to soon .

thanks
tom

I like that way tom :) you'll get more light out of them with a direct link through the battery, as opposed to the stock harness, since the stock harness wiring is not as good as what you could provide aftermarket. But MJ23FE (Jalal) was showing me some pics of some adapters that came with the 04 projectors... aren't those adapters so you can go from USDM 04 Si to CTR or whatever H1 the projectors take? OR maybe you do have to cut some wires up to get them to work... if that's the case then getting a new relay to run wire would work best anyways...

Sweet those look really nice.

You are from 201? cool you're probably now the closest person to me on here, haha. I used to be until they changed me to 973, even still tho I have a lot of family in 201.

Sweet projectors, though. :)
