Sorry... industry-ism - CHMSL = Center High Mount Stop Lamp (3rd brake light). You can pop off the cover and put a small sticker in there and when you step on the brakes, it is illuminated)... no biggie.

You all will boo and hiss, but I really think that for the coin he spent to get the EP, that there were, in fact better choices for him out there (read: Mazda3) - he was more or less just stuck on having an "H" on the grill and wanted to get out of his Jetta GLX ASAP.

He's got a weejun, so the four doors would've come in handy, along with the optional head curtain bags for safety, etc. Plus, it's a kick@ss ride with better steering, braking, suspension, warranty, and style (IMHO). Don't get me wrong, I'm still good with my EP, but given the choices that exist on the market now, I probably wouldn't be driving one. The Mazda3 just made more sense, but he was too pigheaded to even have a look, y'know? I guess I shouldn't decide what is a better vehicle for another person, but I probably advise and/or negotiate for the purchase of at least 5-6 vehicles a year, so I guess I can't resist.

Besides, who buys identical vehicles?? Reminds me of those poor children who are dressed up by their parents in identical holiday sweaters at the mall waiting to get their pictures taken with Santa - you just know those kids are going to grow up to be deeply disfunctional human beings. *lol*

Actually, I never did quite figure out why nobody who drives a newer Big 3 product ever seems to think about using rental cars as their own private boneyard. ;) Bad alternator? Hmm... New exhaust? Tires? Check. All the rental places ever look for are dents and such. Hell, you could probably rent a car with a bunch of options and build your own base-model stripper into a higher-content example. "Hey, didn't this thing have power windows?" "Umm... no.... thought that was really inconvenient myself." :angelm:
