Hello, I am new to the site but have looked around for an answer to this without luck. I understand that to install CTR bumber covers on an SI one needs to replace the "rebar." Could someone please clarify what the rebar is and what kind of labor costs are involved in it's removal and replacement?

My wife and I bought an 03 SI in Oct 03, which I have since put 42,000 miles on. I was rear-ended twice in a two-week period here in NYC, so it seems like a good time to change out the rear end.

Thanks in advance.

the RE-BAR is your reenforcement (sp?) bar. it sits behind the bumper and takes the hits for you if you ever get into an accident. Basically, if you get hit from the front or rear, it reduces the damages and can even save yO life. I'd get this for the FRONT for sure but the back in my opinion is optional, an option i'm taking :angelm:
