civic type r ecu question

Hey guys...
Gotta quick question, a buddy of mine has a type R ecu for sale for cheap my question is... is this a plug and play item? I know I need to get the key's redone, but is there anything else I need to know? Will I mess up anything else up in the process of installing or using it? Also, how does this compair to hondata?

well i had a DC5 ITR ECU in mine with no problem the, immoblizer was removed, just make sure you have that A2 head on first

ok well heres what i got let me know if it will work with this: k20a3 with aem full cold air, dc header, megan racing cat, hks hi power thats what i have im wondering will it work lol

The ecu will not work. You need a k20a2 (rsx type-s) or k20a (rsx type-r) motor or head, in order to use the ecu.

DJL is right the K20A3 has a totaly diferent VTEC it will not work without at least the A2 head
