slight differences in the 04 interior

i was at my dad's work yesterday(honda) and was looking at the black 04 they had. not only do they get 5 lug, diff headlights/tailights, and side skirts but inside i noticed they have siler window buttons and chrome vent knobs. THOSE BASTARDS!!! oh yeah and us 02 owners have crappy keys. lol

I really dont see why not, honestly. I think the harness is the same so you really shouldnt have to be doing splicing/crimping etc...

Yeah... I wanna make my car more comfortable for me... so the up+down window switches are a must.

the vents have a chrome paint stripe on them. also the steering wheel looks like a lighter shade of grey.

i have a viper alarm. they sell window up and down kits that go with it. you can open and close them with the remote, and from the inside they have auto up and down on both side ;) oh yeah i also can open and close my sunroof with my remote. you can get all the stuff at circuit city, or any other car electronics place. i suggest having them install it cause it is a lot of wires.

That's not true, i drive an 04 and i have red stitching on my steering wheel and shift knob just like the 02's and 03's.

I was just lucky enough to get the option of an rsx type-s transmission from my honda dealer. ;)

maybe just the one i looked at did not have the red stiching... but come to think of it the little civic SI brochure thing that has all the pics and specs of the car shows two shots of the interior and in the pics they dont have the red

Wow u were deff. right on the brochure thing. I just looked at the one i got with my 04 and the steering wheel has Black stitching. But inside my car the stitching on the steering wheel and shift knob is red. That's weird lol. I'll put some pics up of the brochure and my car. :)

I hate my 04 taillights. i think everyone else hates them becaue in America we want the JDM look on our ep's and of all the eps made from 02 to 04, the 04's look the most different. but that's just my assumption. On the topic of red stitching on the steering wheel and shift knob on the 04's. i could be the exterior color of the car that determines what i gets. cuz i drive a blue one and it deffinitely has the red stitching, what do u think buckeye and portugeetex?

I have read threads in the past on EPhatch where whenever someone needed to order a replacement wheel they always came with black stitching for whatever reason. Even to the point where a dealer would keep trying to reorder the part only to find it have black stitching each time. Maybe the SI you saw had its wheel replaced for some reason.

I have red stiching on my 02.
As far as the switch, you can call your local Honda dealer and see what they charge, then call 203-730-5703 and ask for John. He will give you a good price, if you tell him that Dave sent you. I have been buying parts from them for years. They have internet parts store at www.fairhondapartsforyou.com I bought my Si from them as well. They are a real dealership that is an internet parts shop as well, with really good prices. I doubt his price will be more than $120 for the driver switch ($154.79 MSRP) and probably $10 ($13.03 MSRP) for the passenger side. Not sure if the "auto up" is in the switch though.

My '04 has red stitching on the wheel and the seats. Also, the front grill section is now painted with some kind of clear coat. The '02 grills were just a flat black color. It looks pretty good on the '04 now. :D

i want to know more about wether or not the 04 window switch with the auto up/down feature will work on 02/03s. any of you dealer types know if it will work or not. BTW, i only want it if its plug and play.

I also noticed that there are plastic covers under the hood on the sides of the engine bay for the 04s but not for the 02-03s. I'll be ordering these soon, and post pics. ;)

Do these stop you from seeing "thru" the wheel well to out the other side? Is that what your talking about?
