Can someone tell me the difference in the two design of McGard wheel locks from the 2 pics from below? When I say difference, I do mean that's the advantage of "wheel lock #1" have over "#2"?

I've had bad experiences with wheel lock number 2. Already, 2 busted keys and 1 or maybe 2 locks right now. I heard great stuff about McGard, but so far they are letting me down. So I'm looking into something like the wheel lock #1 to see if it is better or not. Thx for your input in advance.

It seems like #1 is just a "tuner" version of that style locking lug nut. I mean they both have the same taper and what not, I guess it would really depend on what type of lug nut hole your wheels have when making your decision...

On the other hand, I've heard of a lot of people having really good luck with these Bull Lock locking lugs and are almost identical to the Mugen locking lugs:

so I'd check those out as well :)

As for me, I've been running straight Gorilla tuner lugs on my EP w/ newly installed C8's and they've been great :winkm:

IMO...from the pics....

They have the same taper...just one is a smaller diameter than the other.

(Aside from the obvious length difference)
