ok dont flame me guys but someone asked me a question and now i am confused. I also did a search but maybe i didnt use the right search word cause i couldnt find it. anyways here is my ?...

does the base rsx have the same motor as the si? if so, why does it have 10lb/ft torque more than us?

if not the same engine, which one is it?

same engine, different intake manifolds. supposedly the rsx one provides better torque but chokes out in higher RPM. The torque rating is higher for this reason, however, most people have dynoed EP3s to be producing just as much (peak) torque as the base RSX.

the ep3 has the same IM as the rsx-s

thx anja - your always there to answer my stupid technical questions. :D lol

here's another one for ya... how much hp/torque gain would u get if u P/P the IM?? just curious.

i remembered a thread showing like 6-7 hp gain from boring out the throttle body -

I don't think P&P of the IM is possible...maybe it is and I don't know.

P&P is usually done on the cylinder head as far as I knew.

Only thing you really can do to increase flow on the IM is have it port matched when you bore out the TB.

yup, to p&p an intake manifold you have to cut it in half, polish, and weld it back together.
