I installed AEM V2. Now during high RPM 1-2 and 2-3 shift sometimes I get a silly backfire in the intake tube.

Well yes of course everything is tight. No reset of ECU... that should have been taken care of while I installed it. The battery gets unplugged during install.

What do you mean buy weird backfire in the intake? Are you refering to the very notciable change in sound when rpm get to about 4.5 -5k rpms. This is buy design or are you getting a popping noise? Click on the Aem V2 product Demo (http://www.aempower.com/default.asp)

No the car obviously gets louder at high RPM... i mean it pops. :-P

Strange I have no popping at all with mine? Are you sure that it is not the intake hitting some thing in the engine compartment. I know when I installed mine it sat really close to the transmission and I had work with it a while to get the right clearence.

REPOST (probably the 30th or 40th time)

This is commonly referred to as "intake pop"... its just something that happens with many free flowing aftermarket intakes... shouldnt hurt your car... i get it every now and again... no big deal...

enjoy your intake!

I have the V2 and this has happend to me only once when I was racing my friend's mazdaspeed protege. This was about 3-4 months after I installed it. Shouldn't be an issue unless it continually happens.

Nah I was never worried... just making sure i was not alone. My friend got a nasty face full of fire while adjusting his idle on his Grand Prix with a 350 in it.
