I just wanted to know where you guys stand, I'm a road racer and starting to get into auto x'ing...

that is pretty much me, I road race (d) used to... until i rolled my Si, realized that road racing on mountains is a dangerous thing to do... and now im moving on the auto crossing, where I can practice my driving skill, and do it in a safe area where even if I get hurt, it would be in a controlled environment nad not putting other innocent people at risk. Too many things can happen on the open street... rolling a car into a 40ft clift is not my idea of fun, but it happened to me. But freeway road racing is simply gay in my mind. True road racers do it in the mountains :D

But real enthusiast that are mature and respectful, so it at auto-x

well if your in the break in period and your not sure what you like, try auto xing first, because there you can let it rip and not worry about hurting anybody. plus you'll learn how to skid control, so if you ever break loose in your ep or any other car you'll know how to control it and gain control again safely.

Bah, that's why there's stock classes. :) Even if your region is uber-competitive, you should go and have fun, get seat time, learn anyway. Besides, first season you're in STN, and pax time on the EP rules when racing against other classes. I took out a 'vette already. On the Squishy Michies!!! :D

are you talking about shifter karts? you know you have to rebuild the motor after every race? depending if you rip it or not... most of my friends that race shifter karts have to rebuild after every single race and it adds up... just like fixing up a car almost.

Autocross all the way. The place we autocross here is on a road course which is a lot faster than your average autocross.

I never really understood how drag racing could ever compare to autocross. Going straight for 14 seconds with a couple of shifts in between doesn't sound that exciting to me.

Really, I don't fit in any one category. I like to have my ep3 as clean as a show car but I still love to drive it. My car has never seen snow and if it is raining I usually will not drive it either. I like a car that is fast like a drag racing car but I like to take corners fast also. Auto X looks like fun but seems like it is too hard on a car so I don't do that because I only have one car. My car is fully gutted, so as far as the interior goes I prefer function over comfort or looks.

i used to be a more all performance guy, especially when i was younger but when i thought about it i never really actually race. if i do race it would be once in forever. having a fast car just makes no since if you never use it to its full potential. i see the dam thing every single day, it might as well look good. plus its a daily driver, i love how smooth it runs and you cant complain with today gas and all.

I'd love to take my car autocrossing someday. With the way the cops are here I'd never streetrace. Although most of my friends have drag cars, I prefer to set up my car towards handling. I'd love to take it to a road course and do some races someday
