Basic engine mods are a ported Z3 head , SSR header(ceramic), RBC, MaxBored TB, K2's and a DC Sports SC cat back on my EP3.
Well I finally replaced the DC Sports Single Can muffler with the Hytech loop muffler.

At idle she sounds almost as quiet as stock. Stays fairly quiet till about 3500rpm's then starts to growl and then roars after 5500rpms. VERY CIVILIZED !

Very noticible gains from 2K up thru the mid range with no loss up top from the ole butt-dyno! Aids with the drivability around town, cruising around at 1300-1600 rpms just like stock, smooth as silk, and mellow sounding.

A real sleeper exhaust.

This Muffler and a KTeller 2.5" RSX kit with a 14" resonator would cost less than alot of JDM exhausts, sound awesome, attract alot less attention from the man, and sap no power for those that are looking for an exhaust who have a bit more than stock under the hood and it is their DD.

******** UPDATE 2/6/08 *************

I went down to Jeff Evans and had some tuning done on the dyno. The graph really smoothed out and gained ALOT up top as well as thru-out the midrange.

Now the first dyno trace(dotted) is with the A2 head, Mugen headgasket, portmatched RBC and DC Sports muffler/can.
The solid trace is with the Z3 head, fully ported(polish on exhaust only), flatfaced valves, OEM headgasket, portmatched RBC and the DC can removed and the Hytech loop muffler welded on.
Both heads had K2's, the same SSR header and Maxbored TB with the same stock block. The stock HG removed the dips in the power curve caused by the Mugen HG and my set-up.

AND here is a VID of a pull

***Update 4/18/09***

I added a Platinum cat from Car-Sound so that I can pass my yearly emissions test. I added the Platinum cat and turned OBDII on, I passed with flying colors.
Well I decided with the nice weather I would street tune the A/F after adding the cat. I had to pull some fuel at idle and above 7000K, about 4-5% max. BUT the incredible thing was I had to add up to 18% in spots from above idle to about 4K. She now has tons of bottom end, a REAL SNARLING BITCH around town with just the flex of an ankle !!!

This is a 2.5" custom exhaust, a weld on muffler.

I feel bad for you Doug. Now you're going to be working double time to help out new members with the lack of searchable information on top of all the help you already give.

I purchased the Muffler only, and added it into my 2.5" exhaust. I think it is around 350$

I do believe it may be available as a axle back, you would have to call Hytech and talk to John and see what he has or can do.

It is very quiet around town and cruising, just a nice low rumble,,, But it does have a nice snarl at WOT. The best part is that it doesnt overpower the intake music.
