View Full Version : My new razo shift knob!

I just installed my new Razo type 400 shift knob. I've got one problem though, the rubber boot that meets the knob doesn't quite slip in underneath like the stock knob. Now there is metal showing where the boot and knob meet.
What do you guys think?

cool knob, to bad it doesn't work with that boot. You can always get a leather shift boot on crsx.

I can't really tell whether I'd like the knob from the pics (I'm inclined to say 'no' as I'm not a fan of knobs of that shape-- personal preference).

As for the boot's not holding, replace the silver collar & put a rubber grommet inside it to hold up the boot. Easy fix.

Here's my old shiftknob & boot as supported by the grommet:

Yeah, everyones got their own personal preferences. So I could take the silver collar from the stock knob?

Cow I remember now before the endtimes I admired your knob but was not able to inquire.

Yes sir. The knob piece itself has clips at the bottom that attatch it to the collar. Twist the pieces in opposite directions while pulling apart & you should be golden.

Well thank you. I actually sold it last week. I'd intended to put it in the Z, but it was the same height (its selling point for me in the EP-- signifigantly reduced throws) as stock.

I remember that and wanted to know where you got it and so on, looks comfy too.

Try the Honda/Acura shift boot adapter 08999-BAK-100 to hold the boot up. It's a hard to find part. Works great with aftermarket shift knobs and stock rubber boot on the ep3.

Yeah, that's what it looks like. If you unscrew the stock shift knob it looks like the same type of plastic connection piece on the bottom.

Yeah, save yourself some money and go with Cow's method. I think Siep gave me the 'BAK' plastic part or sold it to me for dirt cheap when he sold his ep3 and got a FG Coupe. I love it though, keeps up the rubber boot with my Buddy Club Type A knob and it looks 100% stock because it's a Honda part.

well what more can I say to that..LOL, I'd say the stock knob feels great but just a bit chunky for me. I guess you could say it feels like your pulling less than the stock one.

nice man. now u need the razo pedals to go with it lol

yeah, for sure. i was planning on finding some that would match with the car, red & black :mtongue:
