View Full Version : Wrinkle Blue Valve Cover Installed!

I got my wrinkle blue valve cover from race coated earlier this week and just installed it this morning. Not a hard thing to do, but kind of a pain. LOL. I also installed the CTR Intake Manifold Cover as well as Spark Plug Cover and Dip Stick. Just need to decide on what color mugen oil cap to get. I'm thinking black to match the dipstick.

No, i didn't try it with the stock manifold cover. I really like the silver one. It doesn't look to bad in person, but with the camera shots being pretty close up. I've been tossing around the idea of a carbon fiber manifold cover, but havn't decided yet.

I was thinking silver at first, but then I think there might be too much silver in there. lol. Still undecided. When i figure it out i'll probably post something. I am also torn on reservoir covers now. I was going to get mugen covers, but now i'm thinking spoon for the blue.

30 mins when you don't have to walk to the hardware store to buy a 10mm deep socket, only to find they are sold out of both 1/4" and 3/8" drive 10mm deep sockets. I ended up buying a 30 set of deep sockets, oh well. lol

Its not too bad. I purchased new gaskets for the spark plug tubes and a new valve cover gasket, but I probably could have re-used the old ones.

I like the way the blue VC works with your car. I think the silver is a nice contrast to the black. I think if it was black, there would be too much black. Very nicely done!

Hey, thanks for all the compliments. I've been wanting to do a valve cover forever and was going to get a type-r cover, but I just started seeing them everywhere and wanted to do something different. If your going to do a valve cover I highly recommend racecoated. It may take a while but the quality is great and you can't beat the price.

Damn that is the same set up I was thinking about. It looks great!!! Kudos to Racecoated. I like your idea with the silver IM cover. I was going to do that but I think I will leave it off so my Blue BDL fuel rail shows . . when I finally install it:mfrown: Props to you though.

Thanks for all the props! I have a complete JDM CTR Body going along with it now. Bumpers, lips, and skirts are on. Just waiting for my CTR wing to get here so I can finish off the exterior. Still to install are my CTR upper dash bar and CTR front and rear sway. Still need to get some poly bushings for the sways.

Its powder coated, and I think those are the only pics I took of it right after I installed it. It still looks that good to this day though.

Race coated did mine, he had a bunch of different styles. Smooth and wrinkle. I think the finish depends on the type of powder used.
