So I finally finished installing these HIDs. Sorry I forgot to take pics during install but I don't think theres any need for install pics. If I can install it, any bonehead can! I'm a total noob.

I can't find the memory card for my camera so until I do, I've only got a few shots with my camera phone to show where I mounted the ballasts.

Here we go...

Here's the driver side ballast, stuck on with 3m acrylic foam tape. That foam tape is some strong shit, trust me:

Passenger side. I used the provided mount and screwed it into that brace on the side, or whatever it's called, along with the 3m tape. Half of the ballast hangs off the side so I thought it would be safer if I secured it with the provided nut and bolt AND 3m tape:

Here's the relay (I'm guessing). Just stuck it there with some 3m tape:

And here's the back of the HID bulb with the stock rubber booty. The back of the HID bulb is much larger so the rubber booty will not fit. Simply just push the center of the boot out all the way, now it fits snugly. ( in other words, instead of looking like an innie belly button, it looks like an outie belly button, if that makes sense lol:mwink:)

The only thing I'm concerned about this is I don't know how hot the back of the bulb gets and whether it will melt the boot or the boot prevents the bulb from coolling off properly. Any input? And anyone know if the ballasts are supposed to buzz when turned on?

Oh ya, this is the shit right here!

Stay tuned, I'll get some night shots tonight hopefully if I can find my memory card...

I would have used 3M MOULDING Tape, I mounted my drivers side ballast in the same spot temporarily, until i pull the bumper off and mount it to the rebar. I have my passenger ballast mounted down on the frame right to the rear and below the light.

The 3m stuff I'm using is plenty strong.

Ya I would have preferred to hide the ballasts away but I'm too lazy to pull off the bumper.

mine buzz.

Nice pics. I put the ballast where you put the relay unit on the driver's side, and at the same place on the passenger side.

but after a grounding kit, voltage stabilizer and now HID kit, my aftermarket wiring is getting pretty cluttered around the battery :mconfused: Im going to need to tidy that up some day.

How much did the HID PLUS the PROJECTOR LAMPS set you back? Where did you order from?

I don't have projectors. The HID kit was ordered from the vendor XenithXenons for $150 during the group buy...

You are using the stock head lamp units? I thought you needed projectors with the HIDs? Have you seen any over heating issues with the headlights?

Yup stop 02 headlamps. It's better with projectors but you don't NEED it. Projectors eliminate the issue with glare that reflectors have but I feel the glare is minimal. So far no issues, and I think HIDs run cooler than halogens.

Cool! I have an 04 EP3 but HID performance should be the same...speaking of which, how much better did you find the HIDs to be over the halogens? A lot more, slightly more? I am asking because I have to decide if I get silverstars or HIDs, depending on how much better HIDs would be.

Well the only bulbs I had in there were the stock bulbs so the HIDs are definately a lot better. Here's a thread with some pics http://www.ephatch.com/forum/showthread.php?t=43398

Hey where did you buy the 3M tape? I am thinking that it would be a good idea to tape the ballasts instead of drilling holes.

Forgot to ask you if you still have the part number from the website, I went there and could not find the 6000K kit that specifies both high and low beam included. Also, did not see a kit for only $150

the $150 was a Group Buy special. it's now regular price.

HID for hi and low beam is the bi-xenon. but i dont think the bi-xenon is available for your 04, since it's a 9006 bulb. the 02-03 uses H4.

I see, well I emailed them to see if they have any suggestions. I really want to get the HID kit. I was looking at the 4300K because the brightness is higher.

02/03 uses h4 bulbs for hi and lo beams. 04/05 you would need to get 2 sets of hids for hi and lo beams.
