for that price you can buy a used set off ebay.uk or ebay germany and have them shipped to the US. :mfrown:

Replicas are supposed to be cheaper than the real thing.

I think you'd want to throw LED turn lamps in the corners to keep the yellow out and showing full view of the lamp....

I know it's wishful thinking but if they came down to 200 bucks I'd be on them like stink on shit!

You mean don't buy fakes that you don't have to bust into and mod to not blind people? Or do you mean don't buy fakes that cost twice as much to import from Europe? I'm kinda lost on the whole fake thing. . .I mean, these are headlights for crying out loud, just add some sealent when they come in. I thought that saying no-no to fakes ended at safety and performance issues. C'mon, 95% of people here have fake Mugen crap on their car. No offense, so do I.

Bwahahah, did you even read what you just typed? For a site that mentions "form over function" more and more, I see some of the lamest shit on here. I could buy these depot lights and be well on my way to a completed retrofit before I could buy the JDM projectors with the incorrect beam pattern.

That's kinda what I'm looking for in these, but take the laziness a step further. I want to do absolutely no retrofitting, mainly because it adds to the cost. If these work properly out of the box, then great. If not, then I'm still happy with my stockies.

People are saying that they're not much cheaper than the real deal, but with those you MUST retrofit unless you want to blind people, and that definitely drives the total cost up.

Correct. Your only other OEM option is to go w/ EDM projectors which won't require any retrofitting. The problem is that they are hard to find. The DEPO headlights are a good alternative IMO.

How or where do i search for the EDM set???? Oh and replicas are never bad from a reliable source. Everybody buys "fake" shit everyday i.e. bootleg dvds and cd's. Anyways still a bit pricey for replicas that still need to be modded. Maybe like $220's w/no modding of any kind. Just throwin it out there, seein what happens

It's the JDM projectors that need to be modded, not these.

edit: When I say modded, I am referring to the beam pattern, not to the wiring. If these lights are going on a 02-03 EP, you will need to do some wiring. Hope that didn't confuse anyone.

02/03 are H4
04/05 are 9005/9006.

So from this information:

* It fits stock 2002-2005 HONDA CIVIC SI 3DR HATCHBACK ONLY
*** 2002-2003 Civic SI need modification the harness

I'm assuming these will have the 04/05 9005/9006 setup. So, no..most likely an H4 bi-xenon kit will not fit a 9005 projector.

Danny J
04-25-2008, 11:47 AM
Yep exactly what they said...well not word for word but same concept. So then what would be needed to convert it from an H4 to a 9005/6?

Regardless its not money coming outta my pocket its the dudes insurance so im saving them cash doing it this way but the body shop will only mount them ima need to make the harness when i get my car back unfortunately They will probably be like " Hey mang your car it ain't got head lights mang. you bought thee wrong ones..." Im gonna be like I KNO!!! just put them in Stop saying my Car is complicated geez.... I kno this already

but whatever Ima just seal them up with some silicone and install no big deal no leaks im not worried

the wiring harness is really easy but most people do it backwards because the system is negatively switched, when you get around to it give me a PM and i'll send you my little paint diagram and some instructions. Or you can figure it out yourself but i promise you'll probably make the harness perfectly but it'll be backwards because everyone does this.

So these and and the Anzo's need modifing if you have a 2002-2003 ep?

Yup, as well as the stock 04/05 or the actual 04/05 projectors, since the 02/03 has 1 low+high bulb and the 04/05's have a seperate bulb for each.

Thats a great deal because the real CTR ones go for a about 6 or 7 something now....so I guess the price they are listing are pretty good......if you ask me...but then if your ep3 is 02-03 you have to modify your harness.....lol but its still a great deal bump for EBAY ..

02-03 works by way of H4 -> 9005/9006 conversion harness, same as if you were going to install the 04-05 stock headlights. I don't know if a DIY has been posted up yet, but it might be soon.

HID's are one of the questions about everybody here has. Stay tuned.

As for a DIY It will be hard to do one since the body shop is installing the lights but im doing the harness sooooo Ill post pix of it done

I got one question tho whats up with this 9006 to H1 Conversion clip or something for the prelude I've been doing some research and it seems that you Legit JDM nuts need to use this H1 Conversion clip or something for the projector bulb I was worried about something stupid like that

There doesnt seem to be any info on these lights tho if the harness for H1 to 9006 is already present or whatever

Regardless if its like that or not ima have to make it work Ill Post info

I had Depo lights in my crx years ago and in my eg before I knew better. The lights look good for a couple of months, then they get the haze on them, they leak and the beam pattern sucked. Crappy beam pattern on 2 cars with 2 sets of lights prove to me I did'nt recieve a "fluke" set.

Don't get me wrong, they look great. But no way will I sacrifice my headlight's output (I live in the country) for pure cosmetics.

I'm a newb here, but a 10-years-plus B13 SE-R dude, and DEPO makes bad lights for early 90s Sentras. The fitment was horrible..the tolerances are really sloppy. All around construction was poor.

civiCholo

deop lights for the ep are actually pretty good in quality as far as fitment goes... paint lasting for a certain period of time, i'm not sure, but from what i've seen and dealt with, they are really good and worth the money if you need OE replacements...

The difference is in the honeycomb section for the turn signal. On the regular headlights, the honeycomb goes all the way to the top, while on the projectors they stop halfway up since the driving light is up there.

So Wayne (speedstar racing) has posted beam pattern shots with the halogen bulbs. For those in the know (spefically oneglory and palmofyourhand), what do you think? I personally don't know enough about how projectors should look to tell if this is acceptable or not.

those look pretty good, but look like other aftermarket projector outputs... intense towards the center of the beam and fades out on the sides wayyy too much for my tastes... i think a lens swap or a projector swap would benefit it the best...

It looks "ok." The reason i say that is because the intensity of the lights can seem very different with different camera settings. I have seen projectors look completely different with different cameras and camera settings.

The beam doesn't look wide at all.

So until i get a set in my hands to use, i really can't judge from that pic.

Kodeen mentioned the honeycomb thing.

and the CTR's are molded differently. there is a "hump" on the front lense in different spot. bc the ctr has the projector more towards the middle of the headlight, as oppose to the usdm halogen low beams are more towards the outside.

I went to see the head lights today I can confirm that the Depo lights come with a 9006 - H1 jumper harness and the H1 bulb adapter like the one from the prelude....

Fitment on the lights are perfect just like stock and quality is just awesome.... I cant test them until i get my car back but like i said I needed to order some parts from honda....

just the turn signal sockets the parking light indicators are the same those plugged right in no biggie

My car is coming along just fine.... new fender no frame damage

new bumper and for show.... They shaved my side markers

it looks awesome!!!

So Ima use the unused plugs for the side markers to fit them on the turn signals for the 04-05 sockets I researched a bit and they seem to be able to work maybe a little modding like cutting a clip inside the plug or something no big deal.... but soon I'll have my baby back....

until then Ima keep riding my new baby  My yamaha R6 woooo

My friend... that isn't glare... That's halogen projector "flare." That flare is used to light up signs which are mainly on the right side because they are lhd.

If you want a flat beam pattern, you should get TSX projectors with D2S bulbs.

Glare is jsut fragments of light going everywhich way but the right direction. Producing a shine where it shouldn't be.
