So i have been searching like crazy and haven't found any thing.. about some ? i have.. Ok so if i could get my hands on a k20z3 from a si with the 6 spd.. Is it a hard swap i am mostly worried about the trans can the ep's shifter handle a 6 spd.. And is it a ton of work to swap it? and how much after market is arond for it.. or should i go k 20a2 with 6 spd...

The engine will drop rignt in, as well as the transmission, BUT the shifter cables do not mount correctly, the Z3's shifter mechanism is backwards, and the VSS has an incorrect output. Also you will need a K20A2/A3 engine harness and kpro

Another option would be a K24 and 6speed.

dont forget the tires. if you go k24 the extra torque would be pointless without some sticky icky icky.

i have a z3 swap in my ep and was a pain. i did my homework:typing::typing: before i did it and people say it drops in but it doesnt. they dont tell u that u have to trim the radiatior support for the intake manifold:faint:. extand wires and switch starters an sensers. if u want to save yourself the trouble get a a2 swap.

Oh you kept the rbc. That is why you had to trim the radiator support. Switching starters and sensors? What engine harness and tranny did you use?

I am sure I have mentioned it wasnt a plug and play swap, especially with a Z3 trans. You are correct in saying it is alot more trouble than a K20A2 swap.

Well the z3 trans is the first big reason why it sucked to put it in.lol. The 6spd from the a2 is plug and play.

So what did you do to get the z3 transmission working? I ask because I am thinking about this swap a year of so down the road. Less miles I guess on an 06-08 motor.

I vouch for the other posters! It's not PNP. You can't use the trans casing from the z3 you'll loose the speedo but the good news is that you can use the internals from the z3 on your stock trans casing. It's a lot of work to get the shifters working I forget if it was buddy club or someone that makes the shifter spacers to get the 6 spd to work. You don't need a Kpro, if you don't have the cash you can get a JDM ecu for it and run that. Only sh*tty thing is that your top speed will be 120Mph. There's limiter in there unlike the stock ecu or Kpro.
