I recently purchased the Skunk 2 6 spd. shift knob. I want to get the shift pattern right side up. Any one have ideas for this? thanks.

It should have come with a nut that goes under the shift knob. You tighten the knob as much as you can while keeping the shift pattern where you want it, then you tighten the nut against the knob to keep it in place.

Mine did not come with a nut so I had to use alot of teflon tape on the threads and screwed it down as tight as I could. It doesn't move at all now.

if it do not come with the lock nut, I recommend stuffing the hole with toilet paper to stop the knob at the position that you want it. it takes trial and error to get this right without the nut, but the nut is your best bet.

The nut does not fit through the JDM boot. Does the flat part of the nut go up or down?

Both nut and knob (sounds dirty) are supposed to be above the shift boot. It's supposed to go boot -> nut (flat side up) -> knob.

Or what you could do is put some thread lock in the knob and just hold position the knob the way you want it and tada a few seconds later knob wont move for crap

Why not just buy a nut?

Roll up some small balls of paper towel and put it in the shift knod till the pattern is stright.

Bump......How do you get the knob to be in correct alignment without using the nut?

Wrap the threading on the shift lever with a good amount of teflon tape (the stuff you use when installing a shower head). That's what I'm using, and it works fine. Just make sure you use a thick coat of it.
