Ok, so after going to the AC meet and being asked "did you raise your car" by jjr007... I decided I seriously need some springs to lower this b1tch.

Right now I'm unemployed for about a month now, so I'm tight on cash... so I am only going for springs to put on stock shocks.

Also I am not lookin to be scraping everywhere... Ideal would be no more than 1.5" drop... ideal would be 1".

So... what would you guys go for if you were a broke man with dreams? Any preferences?

Its hard to drop the car cheaply to be honest.

You should get a rear camber kit, plus alignment fees.

Springs $100-300
Rear Camber $80-200
Alignment $50-150

Plus labor fees if you arent doing it yourself.

Eiback sortlines were inexpensive and a solid upgrade from stock. love the drop and handling, shocks are a must for any dropped vehicle though(keep in mind):decision:

I'm sure James didn't mean for you to take it that way.

I would go Eibach Pro-kit over Sportlines if you will see any speed bumps or driveways with curbs. The pro-kit offers about a 1-1.5" drop as you'd like. The price of the springs are about $200 new. Used are hard to come by since once people buy them, they rarely ever sell them.

Prokit are good springs with decent drop rate, stock struts still will last quite a while with these, and camber kit is not a must if funds are low. Just get an alignment and tires will last a good 2+ years.

I know how you feel about it. I'm unemployed as well, wanting to do so much to the car really sucks. I just bought H&R springs for my car and my car is not scraping, until I get a job I'm putting the first check into the car:mbiggrin:. Until you get springs you will be one happy person. Just know that once you start working you should put new struts on your lists and rear camber kit atleast

Why? To sportlines shatter over speed bumps or something... lol?!

some people complain that sportlines are too soft.

i think progress springs have a good even drop, the fronts are a bit lower so you wont get the sag in the rear.

eibach's are gay you will end up changing them eventually cuz they sag in the back so do teins... stick with neuspeed or h&r they give you a nice even drop...

From what this website says:

http://www.sportcompactonly.com/Lowering-Springs/Coilovers-Springs/Suspension/part_c-38_pl-904_p-36874.htm

The S-tech are 1.4 front and 1.3 rear... Does anyone have pics of how low they looks like on stock wheels or 15's???

ya teins would be the best bet. personally i would say wait a 4 months or so and get coilovers, cause if ur wanting to keep ur car long term u will most liekly need new shocks down the road, do it right the first time.
