I remember reading on another Honda forum (think it was an Accord forum) that you shouldn't use a T right at the engine block because the weight of the 2 senders and the T can break off or ruin the threads on the block. Most recommended using a braided hose and attaching the 2 senders to the fire wall. Has anyone had any issues with this set up?

The threads in the block are not 1/8" npt. There are 1/8" BSPT. They have the same dia, but a different thread design and pitch. If you install a 1/8" NPT into the Honda block, you will destroy the threads. When you add that heavy aftermarket sender the vibrations will eventually crack the block.

There are two ways to add a oil pressure sender unit safely. You need the following adaptor http://tunertoys.zoovy.com/product/OTODK/Oil_Take_Off__Dual_Outlet.html to properly fit the block and offer a pickup point for a a sender unit with an extension line.

Here it is installed along with my cam tower oil supply line

The other option is to use the oil filter sandwich block like this. http://tunertoys.zoovy.com/product/GVC100-18/Oil_Supply_Sandwich_Adapter_with_18_NPT__GVC10018. html

Amen... the first time i hooked up an oil pres gauge i hung it right off the back.. After my first pull with the car it was blowing oil out cause it snapped right off..

You def need to do the hose method especially if its a higher revving car.

I actually recommend the sandwich all the time. Im revving past 9k and have 85a mounts and have no problems thus far (*knocks on wood*)

Can you get a good oil pressure reading off of one of the oil filter sandwiches? I was under the impression those were only good for oil temp, not pressure.

thanks doug, u have pics, i was gonna say this when i started reading the write up. I remember reading a few threads and if u use npt fittings on that spot it'll crack and then u have an oil leak. Sandwich plate FTW, tho, isn't it weird that if u use the sandwich plate to send oil to ur turbo ur turbo is getting un filtered oil? my buddy and i were lookin at that.......:director:

Good question, I don't see why not though.

Talon, is that remote line a direct fit onto the sender, or does it require an adapter?

Id like to just add, I installed mine today and used the kit below. It has everything you need and worked well for me. Only $35 and and you dont have to worry about forgetting anything.

PS...also the stock sensor is 24mm. If you dont have a wrench in that size go get it before you drain the oil and all that good stuff.

That is a good find. I'll have to order one of those and finally do a gauge install on my car.

Yeah man, after reading like millions of posts on HT I came across a guy who said that's what he used. There seems to be a lot of confusion and no complete hardware kits for oil pressure gauges so....thought I would share it.
