ok well this will be usefull for all those who want to install and aftermarket steerwheel or quick release
the tools you will need are:
rachet with 10mm and 3/4 sockets
at least a 3inch extention
T30 tourx screw
flat head screw driver
the first thing you want to do is disconnect the battery and let the car sit for 15 min to make sure all the power is out of the system so the air bag wont deploy when you disconect the SRS
secondly you need to remove the top part of the steering column cover which you just grabe the sides and pull up. comes off very easy
after that you need to locate the two tabs on either side of the steering wheel.

http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g251/my-cars/Steering%20Wheel%20-%20Mike/brianmike-053.jpg
there is a slot for either one to slide in a flat head screw driver. push them in to get a little seperation and push the tabs and they should come off
now you should see this
driver side:
http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g251/my-cars/Steering%20Wheel%20-%20Mike/brianmike-056.jpg
passanger side:
http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g251/my-cars/Steering%20Wheel%20-%20Mike/brianmike-054.jpg
on each side there is one tourx screw. un-do those
http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g251/my-cars/Steering%20Wheel%20-%20Mike/brianmike-060.jpg
http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g251/my-cars/Steering%20Wheel%20-%20Mike/brianmike-061.jpg
once those are un-screwed the air bag should slide out with a little wiggling
http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g251/my-cars/Steering%20Wheel%20-%20Mike/brianmike-063.jpg
http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g251/my-cars/Steering%20Wheel%20-%20Mike/brianmike-064.jpg
there are 3 connectors that need to be un done.
1) yellow SRS
2)grey cruise control
3)blue horn
ones those are undone the air bag is now free
http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g251/my-cars/Steering%20Wheel%20-%20Mike/brianmike-065.jpg
http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g251/my-cars/Steering%20Wheel%20-%20Mike/brianmike-066.jpg
now with the air bag free there will be one bolt holding on the steering wheel, this is where you need the 3/4 socket and extention
http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g251/my-cars/Steering%20Wheel%20-%20Mike/brianmike-067.jpg
http://i58.photobucket.com/albums/g251/my-cars/Steering%20Wheel%20-%20Mike/brianmike-069.jpg
ok....after that nuts is off the wheel is free to come off. this might take some strength and some leverage. and be carefull not to yank the wires like i did out of the SRS spindle because thats not cheap to replace:mfrown:

Get a steering wheel puller. There are threaded inserts in the wheel itself. You thread two bolts in, and use the puller to basically press the steering wheel off. I use them all the time when I replace ignitions (locksmith). Most auto parts stores rent them as well.

Never ever ever set the airbag down with the bag part facing down. If it pops the it goes where ever it wants at 200 mph. You need to set it back part down on a non-static surface so the static electricity wont pop the bag. Bag part always should be facing upwards. Nice write up though

is it possible to put the steering wheel on uneven?
when i pulled the steering wheel off this stuff came off with it...im assuming its the srs spindle/ reel thingy
nothing detatched...i just put it back in place and bolted everything back... but the srs thingy didnt seem to stay still perfectly...
after install i turned the wheel all the way to the left and all the way to right and with no problems...

I tried doing it before I saw this and didn't disconnect my batterry and when I turned it on my srs light has been on. I changed my own steering wheel to another own steering wheel just looked nicer but I hate the light and don't know what to do

there is a way to reset it just using a paper clip and good timing...... the DIY should still be on the site

I found 2 different ways and tried both and didn't work. Saw another meant for when installing racing bucket seats and it worked on the video took his srs lights off but I don't know if it will work since he didn't remove the steering wheel just his seats?

The link I posted will reset your SRS light so long as there aren;t any issues with the SRS system. If the light doesn't go off, it could be a issue outside of the steering wheel wiring/install. The SRS system will give you DTC codes, you can look up the code to get a better idea on what the issue is. It could be a seat belt buckle issue. A few techs at Honda and Acura have told me that the 7th gen civics and rsx's have faulty seat belt buckles. I brought my civic in for this once and they replaced it no questions asked. So long as you have not altered your SRS system, the seat belts IIRC have a lifetime warranty.

Ok thanks I will try it out and hopefully it works n get back with the results. The srs light wasn't on until I removed the steering wheel to change it since it has a huge hole but I put the same air bag back so I don't think it's the buckles maybe I did a few mistakes while installing

People who are going to replace your steering wheel, PLEASE don't be like me and manually pull the wheel off. it'll pop right off without you even seeing it coming and then your srs reel will un ravel and if you don't roll it back up and install it correctly it will break at a full turn. And cost you like it did me $100 to get a replacement -.-
BUT! if you do decide to not waste your money on a steering wheel puller the trick to just doing it manually is when you got it all disassembled don't take off the nut off fully holding down the steering wheel just leave a cm or so in between it as a safety catch for when it releases from the hub.
Just my 2 cents to save you guys $100...
