what trans will / can you use with the ep?

i wanna do a k24 swap but i really dont like the gearing on k20a3 tranny. I wanna get a tranny with taller gears so that i save a lil more gas on the freeway and am also planning to boost it a bit later down the road.

Get a 02'-04' typeS 6spd and add the TSX 6th gear. This trans has a 4.3fd, there is a 4.0 fd available as well.

Get the RSX-S trans

^ your gas mileage wont change from the rsx-s trans.
its 6th gear is exactly the same as our 5th gear so you'll be at the same RPMS on the freeway.
You'll only benefit from the fact that you've got more gear to utilize the engine speed better.
The tsx 6th will act as a cruising gear for the freeway.

edit: after looking over that chart more, i wondered if you could use an accord 5th gear as a 6th gear since it is lower than the tsx 6th

The typeS 6th gear(4.3fd) is significantly lower in rpm's on the highway than the EP3's 5th gear(4.7fd).
What you may be thinking about is if you add that typeS 6th gear to the EP3's tranny you end up with two 5th gears.

You cannot use a 5th gear from any gearset in place of a 6th gear.
