I had the maintainence light come on at 60k miles... i assumed it was a reminder for the 60k checkup. I did my own personal checkup, and now i'm at 73k miles. Now the light is on again. Anyone have an idea what this may be indicating?

Are you talking about the "check engine" light? The maintainece light is based on mileage and after you have reset it, it will not turn on until a specific mileage has past.

Its just suggesting the Honda approved maint. schedule for our cars based upon mileage. Its for the most part easier to do some of it yourse or take it to another garage. I don't have the list though. Perhaps some other chap has it on here?????
*It also should be in your owners manual. I don't have one but I've been told the maint. schedule is in there.

Sometimes it pops on early too. Such as for a scheduled oil change. Just look for something up and coming in your maint. schedule and see if you did all previous also. If all that checks out, just reset it.:mwink:

check your plugs, but dont replace them unless they are messed. the maintenance required light is just a little light that is to confuse ppl into taking their car to the dealer to get their overcharged services. i wouldnt worry about it at all.

keep in mind according to honda we're supposed to change our oil every 10k miles or something ridiculous like that.

they dont turn themselves off, usually someone has to turn them off for you or you have to turn it off yourself

its just a light to remind the average joe that they might need their oil changed. its not connected to any sensors
