i took my car to jiffy lube and they put 5.5 qts of oil is that ok

Pull the dip stick out and see what the level is,,,

it reads fine , just thought i ask so when ever i do my own i know

It says here the oil capacity is 5.3 quarts. Not sure if it is accurate though.

Seeing as the pump, pickup and pan are identicle between the K24A2 and the K20A3, the amount of oil the engine can contain will be the same. The K20Z3 holds an extra quart.

And Popular Mechanics contains as much fiction as fact......

5 quarts should be correct ....when i had my 2.4 i use to put only 5 quarts so 5.3-5.5 should be good to go....

I put 5 qts in my K24A2 routinely and it falls just below the top dot on the dipstick. A little on the full side, but not over full.

lol, i had asked this question to a few people at a honda dealership and they all said "4 1/2 quarts) Good thing I didnt listen to them

you will find that most dealerships, dont know as much as they should know. Sad but true.

Actually 4 1/2 quarts would probably well within the range of full. I just don't like having half full bottles of oil around:boom:
