First,
my hood is in great condition. Little to no fading. I always use Marine Wax on it to protect the gel coat.

About 3-4 months ago, I noticed that the coating has small cuts on them. All are the same sizes and all are horizontal. It looks sorta like this:

- - - -
- - -
- - - -

Anyone know what I should do and if this problem will escalade?

I'd like to see a pic... I used to work in a detail shop, I might be able to help.

It might be hard to get on camera as it is hard to see with the naked eye.

I'll try today to get a pic thanks for the help.

Crap. I guess the slits are going to let too much air/etc. in and oxidize the hood. How much would a new clear coat cost? Isn't the hood a gel coat btw?

No, I'm real careful with that.
