Trying to search just to confirm that the jdm ctr lights are a direct plug and play in an 04 ep3.

Do they need new sockets or anything?

Thanks guys.

I believe you will need a socket/connector from a newer prelude that will allow you to go from the 9005 or 9006(whichever is the low beam) --> h1. I think for the 04-05 si the other sockets are fine. In the 02-03 you had to change the signal light socket as well.

think the JDM ones are beamed for rhd as well and u need to do some modifcation for lhd or else it seems u high beam everyone

This is true but not as noticeable with the projectors as with the halogens. But as far as wiring goes I think the one connector and you are set.

Yea I'm not really concerned with the beam pattern.

Can anyone confirm the socket required?? Thanks

stealth
04-29-2008, 07:26 PM
95% positive its from the last gen prelude. The socket will plug into your low beam and allow you to plug the h1 into it.

88crx
04-29-2008, 08:38 PM
Sorry, so its a inline socket/connection?

Stock low beam connected to the prelude socket (is it pluged?) to the H1 bulb?

I really wish the search worked lol.

So would one of these do the trick?

H1 to 9006 'conversion adaptor' from SUV lights? I need the "female H1 to male 9006" i think.

JDM is right hand drive beamed so not safe for US roads. HOWEVER, the projector headlights from germany are LHD so perfect for us! That's what I have.

Good call lol... you posted that a minute after I did. I'll hit up honda for those 2 parts.

I'll do a quick DIY once I receive everything and get it working for everyones future use.

Othen then the H1 everything else is a direct plug & play, right.

Good to know.... my lights will be here next week, I'll wait and see what SSusa included.

And you also rocking a 9006 to H1 harness.... have you had any problems with it?

0 problems at all since day one, just splice and go, everything else just plugs into the housings like the USDMs...

Where can I find a female H1 and a male 9006 connector so I can make my own adapter harness? Beside SUVlights of course haha.

So after some further discussions with D-Unit I/we need some more clarification.

Does the prelude parts #3 and #2 do the converting from H1 to 9006 OR do you need that prelude part as well as a harness adapter (like on suvlights.com) to go from 9006 to H1 similar to this:

http://www.suvlights.com/images/DSCF1755.jpg

Thanks again for all the help guys.... normally i would get all the stuff then figure it out but the big local car show is in less than 3 weeks which doesn't leave much or any time to figure it out once i get the lights.

Holy, why did the site have to crash!!!! I've searched google for days trying to confirm any of this info with no luck.

If someone can clarify specifics (part number would probably help) on how to do this on an 04+ usdm civic it would be greatly appreciated.

Heck, if someone could snap some pics of the back of their converted lights that would be awesome too! Or pics of the back of the jdm rhd projector pre-converted.

did you get your projectors yet to confirm that showstoppers is still including the rubber seal/ bulb plug in their JDM projectors? the pic you posted above is what you need, you have to cut the 9006 harness off and convert it to H1. the H1 bulb plug has only 2 slots, the harness you show above has 3, but thats typical, when I bought my harness from autozone I think it was an h4 harness but you simply dont use the extra prong... I'll go outside and check right now for you...

OPTIMISE
05-05-2008, 04:17 PM
Im almost positive that the JDM projectors will include parts 2 and 3, both me and my homeboy got them for ours when we ordered from SSusa... with that said the only thing that you need is a new connector harness, like I said I got this at autozone. as you can see from the pics the connector harness has 3 slots but part number 2 only has 2 prongs [the ones that run concurrent to each other like this: | | ], but its ok because part number 2 still plugs into the connector harness and works perfectly. plus the autozone connector harnesses are high voltage ready so if you ever really want to blind the holy fuck out of people you can go PNP RHD HID with no problems...

9005 high beam plugs right in as well as the parking light and turn signals, no mods need for 04-05s...

Thats exactly what I needed to know... I didn't realise I could use an H4 harness/plug. Did you cut the 9006 plus off your stock harness to wire it in or were you able to find a male 9006 plug?

One other thing, the prelude part #2 bridges between the bulb and the new H4 plug, it also holds the bulb in place in the headlight correct?

Thanks again dude!

Im not too sure what you are asking partially here, but yes I believe it was an H4 connector harness that I used [the female harness connector I posted in the pic]. you do not need a male socket 9006, the part number two is what the actual H1 bulb plugs into and then becomes the male portion of the 'plug-in-process'. then number 2 goes into the back of the projector and is held in place with this fucking wire [I hate it if you cant tell] that hooks into the top portion of the projector itself. you will see what Im talkin about when you get them, you have to completely remove the headlight when changing out a bulb...

Here's what you get when you order JDM CTR projectors from ShowstoppersUSA.

- 2 headlights (obviously)
- 2 H1 sockets
- 2 low beam rubber gaskets
- 2 high beam rubber gaskets

The pictures show the honda part numbers, maybe someone can confirm if they're a usdm part as well or if they do indeed match the prelude plugs & gaskets.

The H1 bulb is 34901-SZ3-000, That plugs into 33116-SD4-961(white socket with two spades). Than you got signal to deal with. The socket is 33303-SAA-003, and the bulb 33303-S2R-003. I accidently ordered socket 34303-SS1-003 and that fits in the top corner(city lights). I'm not sure if you need to order it tho.

Do not go to the 99 prelude section and order parts 2-3 its wrong. Gaskets dont fit at all. And socket is the City lights, I know. Had to reorder everything. Go to hondaautomotiveparts.com click honda parts online. Then just punch the part numbers in the middle. And the parts get there in like three days.
