any kind of leaking is gonna affect the performance out of it... might not be much, but the sound will sure as hell be annoying and the smell is gonna get worse... just take it to a muffler shop and have it replaced...

yeah i was thinkin of just having them replace then weld a plate to cover that bottom piece to protect from further damage down the road

thats a good idea...or buy some thermal wrap and wrap the flex pipe to protect it.

You should be fine. I've seen lots of people remove the flex pipe completely and weld in a high flow cat. Patching it up with a plate should be no biggie.

It should solve it because bumps are only gonna hit in that one area with the plate. It should only scratch up the plate and not tear the rest of the flex pipe. Make sure he welds it on really good though. Also get some ESMM if you don't already have them in. The DCRH flex pipe has been known to tear from the engine torquing. The mounts should alleviate this.

well i just bought a J's racing TD so i kno that will do wonders for it as well..

but as far as the hole goes should i just replace the flex pipe and plate it or just plate it?

Not sure. Find out how much it would be to just weld in some piping. That would be the best solution but it may cost more. If you get rid of the flex pipe I'd definately get some ESMM, it would suck to have it break! :meek: That happened on my friend's RSX-S. It was sooo LOUD. ESMM combined with an ETD work wonders for getting rid of wheel hop and make the car feel much better overall. They are only like $20 and the install really isn't that bad. Find some guys that are local to you and have them do it for you if you can't do it yourself.

my buddy has a lift and all the tools we will ever need..we did an a2 swap into his civic in 3 hours...

but i think i might just have the pipe welded in place of the flex and have him fab a 2.5in mid pipe as well
