Has anyone done this before? I got this really big/long dent in my rear quarter panel after someone shoved their grocery cart into my car in a parking lot. The shape of the dent is kind of weird...its like a vertically stretched C shape and is about 1.5 foot long. I want to see if paintless dent removal will pop it out

PDR or any bodywork is a trade and should be left to a professional. that's just my opinion and i don't think anyone has done it to their car.

i dont know how big the dent is, but ive seen this thing, where you take those bottles of compressed air ( i think its CO2) to clean dust and shit, usually used for computers and stuff. Well supposedly your supposed to turn it upside down and freeze the dent, once frozen, take a hair dryer and rapidly heat the area. This is supposed to make it pop out, they say it doesnt damage the paint but i dont know never tried it.

definately gonna try this tomorrow! some jerk backed up into me a couple of weeks ago and dented the hatch :(.. it hurts everytime i look at it. but i'll take one for the team and try it out. i got nothing to lose. its right on the trunk so if something goes wrong or paint gets messed up, i could always invest in a carbon fiber one! :)

I had a ding removed via PDR when I was having some insurance things done and it came out perfect. There is no substitute for a professional.

I need about 5 dings popped. I'm just scared of the price. If they can keep it at $150 at the most I'm game.

They seem to charge per panel. And the quotes I've been given were usually 65-100 bucks per panel.

I'd leave it to the professionals. I have a great PDR guy I go to locally. I watched him work his magic on a DEEP dent someone left me on my passenger door on a windy day (the bastard just let his door go:mmad:), and I have a ton of respect now for the guys that can do this. He was able to take care of the worst of the dent; the only way you'd know anything had been done is a little squiggle on the crease under the window.

Very true! I have a dingking and used it on my EK. The first dent I used it on was a little raised. I used it twice on that one and after that only used it on each dent once. It works well for what it is...
