Hey guys im new to the forums and tried searching for multiple images of

these two wings but have gotten overwelmed trying to figure out which is

which, I noticed on spoilerdepot.com the wing there LOOKS like the HFP

wing.. Although when i browse certain threads i notice some people naming it

the "Type r" spoiler. Im confused and can't tell the difference. Also I want

to know where i can find a replica HFP wing to save a few bucks. Also if someone could post an

IMG of these two in this thread it would help me alot thanks!

dont do the spoilerdepot one because the light on the back fades to an ugly color. i know cause i have it. if anything go with the hfp one. plus you'll get honda quality.

They look the same, but the actual CTR spoiler will not mount to a Si since the glass is molded differently. If you find a replica from somewhere like spoiler depot, they might use either term but it doesn't really matter, as long as it is meant to be mounted on a USDM Si.

The Type-R requires the use of the Type-R hatch it will not fit on the USDM hatch.

Ah great info here, so the Type r spoiler is the same as the HFP as far as looks go, I must have confused the CTR with the HFP /Type R spoiler, thats where i must of been mistaken, How long have you had your spoiler from spoilerdepot.com ? I'd hate for my rear LED break like to start dimming out..
Have you ever had a problem with condisantion (sp?) with the knock off from spoilerdepot? :mtongue:

Yes, the type R wings look the same. However, side by side only a true JDM specialist will be able to tell the difference. Even than, HFP > JDM

it will fit ...with alot of triming . if you get the real Mugen wing same has to be done. HFP FTW

replica = fiberglass and usually don't fit 100%, most cut and the tap wires into existing wires.

hfp = abs plastic and has two indentations under the wing, fits perfectly on
usdm hatch. Also comes with a female connector to mate with the male connector for easier installation. brake light has "honda" etched into it.

type r = abs plastic, and requires modification (shaving) to fit snug and also comes with female connector to mate with the male connector for easier installation. brake light has "honda" etched into it.

I was following the instructions for the HFP wing step by step, and it had you put those strips on before the wing itself (which is retarded, but I did it). When I actually had the wing on, they didn't line up, so I removed the strips, and now when I'm driving I barely see the wing through my rearview mirror. I only really see it when I'm outside opening the hatch, but even then I don't really care.
