View Full Version : A3 Alternator & Starter on A2?

Planning on doing a swap and was wondering if it were the same and could be used on my K20A2 swap, cuz if not , planning on getting them brand new before the swap, Thanks!!!

They will work fine, I do believe you need the A3's knock sensor as well, seeing you will be also reusing the A3's charge harness.
Acura carries the A2's starter as a reman now, alot cheaper!

well i have the A2 charge harness so do i still have to use the A3's knock sensor? If so why is this, New to this so need all the help

Supposedly there is a conflict in the connector/knock sensor keying between the different engines. I used/use all A2 components.

so using the A2 harness with the swap i should be fine? But using the k20A3 Alt. & starter on the A2 should be good to go to.
Yes using the A2 harness will be fine, the plug on the knock sensor for the A3 is different then teh A2

i'm using the a2 charge hasness with no problems so far
