Fog Light Color: Yellow, Clear or Ion? [Archive]

Just wondering, what's hotter

1. Yellow foglights
2. Clear foglights
3. Ion foglights
4. None

I'm looking to get some fogs in the near future and want to know opinions. BtW, are there other color options? Thanks!

ions do look pretty nice too...

Someone post up the IONs. I'd say clear though, honestly it depends on the color of the car imo..

here are my ions...i dont have a sweet picture of them on, but i love how they shine yellow on the road and on the outter edge there is a blueish purple glow...they are hot hot hot

here are 2 more, just to give you some idea of how they shine, but they dont really show the blueish purple glow at the edge well, if at all, and the one is blurry, but whatever...im just trying to help

I just bought the OEM fogs and put in some PIAA yellow bulbs, looks good. I don't like the yellow lens, looks like poo.

yah thats why i like the ion yellows, they arent blatently obvious except for the scattered light, which supposedly looks sexy while im driving down the road, haha

the lens/bulb assembly will go in both the usdm and jdm housings for the fogs...if that helps at all

haha yah they are flying pigs, i just had to when i found that animation in the smileys...though i dont think anyone buy ohio/cinci people would get it

and yah, the lens piece will go in a USDM housing, if you dont have fogs then youll need the usdm housing as well...i think we are on the same page, im just trying to make sure we arent misscommunicating haha...

funny how most folkz write they like ion but currently most votes goes to yellow..

i'm kinda thinking yellow also just because it matches the orange blinkers and dc5 sidemarkers..

i know ion fogs are nice, but for the price is pretty steep for them. there only foglights that will probably get cracked by little rocks after all.

I got the yellow ones for mines, because if I get the clear ones is not going to look good with my HIDs. I was thinking in getting HIDs for the fogs too, but I'll be over doing it then.

I been thinking if the lens part can be fitted into our housings? if so then you got some ion fogs.

if the rsx lens is the same as ours then it will...then sell the housings on crsx...so anyone can have ion yellow, just need the lenses

i voted for yellow cus i like em....ions look great but i just don't see myself paying for em while my car is a daily driver. PA roads would murder them and id hate to see expensive fog lights f'ed up.

I find that white/blueish head lights are good for distance and the yellow fog lights are good for bad weather driving. the white lights just make the snow or rain white and block vision worse. Just personal belief though, i'm no optomitrist.

yah the ions are nice because they do BOTH! they project a bright white forward, but the ground around the front of the car is yellow and the snow falling down is always yellow...makes seeing in adverse conditions A HELL OF A LOT BETTER

who knows, im a jawa when it comes to parts for cars i plan on keeping, id rather just save as many parts as possible for down teh road...but yes i want to get second set of ions just incase they become impossible to find, if i have to run with yellow or clear lenses for a while then fine, but ill have a set of bling bling perfect ions for later...

prolly in 5 years ill get another complete type r kit just incase and wrap it all up and keep it safe...cuz if i ever have to replace something down the road, ill be screwed...prolly track down a second k20a (if thats the engine i end up getting) when they start becoming more rare and pickle it and store it as well...just thinking long term...

im weird but ive already decided on not selling any car i love...so ive got my first car and my ep and they arent going anywhere ever

hahaha i think you may need some special brackets...i wasnt sure if my jdm 02/03s would mount...maybe they would, i just wasnt going to try...

do you have fogs wired up already?

haha at the bottles but its true...i think my uncle in san jose does that haha

when it comes to cars i really see each and every one as apples and oranges, and try not to compare cuz every car is its own animal and if you love it then you love it for what it is, maybe not for how it stacks up against others...so even though ill have the ep in the garage and will have something faster, its still important for its own reasons...just like my 86si...so many memories in that car that every time i will drive it will be something very special...plus it will fast as shit...:mwink:

it looks just as bad, if not worse with flat "triangular" pieces of plastic on the sides of the grill opening...

but on another note, this thread wasnt about what do you prefer in the fog light location, its about which FOG LIGHTS would you choose...:mwink: just start your own thread asking people if they prefer fogs or no fogs...

I would have to get some L brackets from Lowe's. I would buy ebay, cuz i dont wanna crack 500 fogs. I just really dont feel like wiring up the fogs.

500?? is that how bad the price on the 04/05s are????

what you could do is get them and keep them nice then run ebay lenses for daily driving or something

i think that was a custom fab bmw projector fogs...that wasnt something that bolted up...
