okay i just took my VTC oil control solenoid out cause i thought i needed some cleaning to it since my check engine light popped up a while back and someone from here told me that i had to clean it..but it doesnt look dirty at all...could the solenoid it self gone bad??? if so how would you know?? is there some kind of testing i have to do??

P1259 has nothing to do with the VTC solenoid, that is a code for the VTEC solenoid.

so i should pull out the VTEC solenoid and check it out then huh? well its located in the rear passenger side right?

yea exactly, there is a thread on here, i think its one of the stickies and it shows exactly where the vtec solenoid is. i just got the code P2647 VTEC Oil Pressure Switch Circuit High Voltage. i disconnected both the solenoid connector and oil pressure switch connector, cleaned them and plugged them back. its been 2 days and the cel hasn't come back on

There is also a filter that is integral to the VTEC solenoid gasket that may need to be cleaned out. The solenoid is retained by 3 bolts.

Go to the DIY section and find the manual and see what the test procedures are.

There is no DIY for the spool valve, just use the Helm's manual to troubleshoot the issue.
