I got a check engine light after an interview this morning. Is there any way to check what the problem is aside from going to a dealership? Afraid that'll charge me an arm just to pull the codes, and a leg to fix the problem.

Most auto parts stores like AutoZone will check it for you for free. Just make sure to get the actual code# and not just the description as Honda uses different definitions for alot of stuff.

I just called up a nearby Autozone. They say they dont do it but they'll give me the machine to do it. Where do I plug the machine into -- is there a port underneath the steering wheel?

if you are sitting in the drivers seat, its under the steering wheel to the right, basically the farthest you can go before you hit the center console

So I just plug it in, turn on the engine?

Sorry never done this before.

Thanks for everyone's help. I went to AutoZone pulled the code:
P0134 - 02 sensor CKT No Activity (Bank 1, sensor 1).

Popped the hood, noticed the MAF or 02 sensor was a bit off its seat, pushed it back in, started up the car and bye bye CEL!
